Norton placed 9 out of its ten wrestlers and barely edges out hoxie the real cinderella story is scott goldsby, orrigionally seedid 6th in his regional bracket, scott was able to qualify for state and put himself into the state finals (with two pins) and gave norton the points they needed to make it hapen

I would have to say the entire team, cause it was an entire team effort. You take away one win or one major or one tech or one pin and we wouldn't of come home with the title.

Ahh, yes. Mad props to Norton, too. Even though you gave us Male Kann, we still like you guys.
And shout-outs to Scott City, as well. Go Beavers.

Congrats to both Manhattan and Norton. Both are great programs that have been close in the past.
No for the real secret to their success. They both got rid of me!!
Congrats to both!!!

Norton wrestled incredibly well. 9 out of 10 in the semis was incredible, and, yes, Scott Goldsby had a great tournament. But I think the real momentum maker for Norton was Kent Mann at 103.
First match was against Deiter, a returning state place winner and Mann scores late in the match to steal a win. Which opens the door for him to place - as he would have caught Migchelbrink in the second consolation match if he would have loss.
No doubt about it all 10 Blue Jays wrestled their hearts out and earned this years' state title. But I thought it was Mann that started the mojo that got them going in both the first round and quarterfinal round.
Congrats to Norton. You had a great state tournament.
