This is a great topic - thanks for starting it and keep those names coming. I have great respect for the men and women in uniform who are assigned all over the world doing their part to protect our way of life and the freedoms that are often taken for granted. SFC(Ret) Ray Arveson, US Army ps - i feel even better knowing some are former wrestlers

I know that Zane Hershey (Hugoton '02), Jake Kreigbaum (Abilene '04) and Tanner Gibson (McPherson '02) are all attending the Air Force Academy right now. Zane and Jake are still wrestling as far as I know, but I am no longer. Thanks for all the support of the military, this is truly a great topic.

What was the name of the wrestler that was a P.O.W. a few years back? He is from the Wichita area and went to Butler Community College for a while too.

Todd Sanchez just returned from Iraq two weeks ago. He recieved a purple heart as he was hit by schrapnel (sp?) from a car bomb. Todd placed 3rd in 2001 at 135. He will complete his bachelors degree in education next semester at Univ. of Minn at Morris where he wrestled until they dropped the program two years ago. He is planning on teaching and coaching.
