He doesn't care about his record! He only cares about a state championship, and besides that an injury default counts as a loss!

I grew up in Newton with the Metzlers ....... anyone who knows them will tell you the suggestion that Seth ducked anyone is ludicrous and born of ignorance. If there's anything to the saying "it's in his blood", his bloodline speaks for itself. He hails from two outstanding wrestling families, Metzler and Harrison. None of them walked around an opponent. If you don't buy the heredity theory, Seth's record should speak loudly enough to put a quick end to this BS. It casts needless dispersions on the characters of good young men. Whomever started the rumor, get a life, and best wishes to both Larry and Seth in the coming weeks. I'm going to go squeeze my stressball and return to my grading.

I don't think that many guys who have wrestled as long as he has would do something that cowardice. I don't know the guy personally but from what i've heard about him he is good.
(Not neccessarily the best, but good)

Seth wrestled Madden the week before at Newton, so why would he duck another State champ the next week? People need to get off this kids back!

Seth did not try to duck anyone his brother was injured on the wrestle back side of the bracket and taken to the hospital. He went to visit his brother in the hospital instead of worry about his record. I think that we all know now that in the end the record doesn't matter. I hope that seth's brother is getting better and I'm sorry I can't remember his name.

Saying a wrestler of Metzlers ability ducked out of a match is completely stupid and thoughtless

Mr. Gnucci
I see that you have a whopping 1 post. In your first post you degrade a great wrestler and a great wrestling family. I am wondering where do you get off judging any of them considering you have no idea what they have been through. I have wrestled with the Metzlers and quite frankly your comment really bothers me.

Zach Metzler is not Seth's brother. yes Zach was injured and taken to the hospital but he is ok. Seth was injured Sat. and to suggest that he was trying to "duck" Perez highly offends many in Newton including Seth.

As is the case, alot of times people on the outside are making statements about situations that they know nothing about. What appears to be nothing to you and I, could be more serious than it appears to be on the outside. With the end of the season coming up and State, this is no time to take a chance and end up further damaging yourself, when sitting down and healing would have been the smartest decision. Seth comes from a long line of wrestling families, the Harrisons,Garcias, Robersons, Metzlers and the Schroeders. And when it comes to ducking from the competition, I have never seen this happen with any of the boys. All I can hope is that Seth is fine and look forward to seeing him compete at State.

I really hope that sometime this topic can end. Seth is one of our states best wrestlers. I have known Seth for many years and he has always been known to bring everything he has. Accidents do happen!

TopekaHighWrestler06- It was probably near death as it had not been posted on for 4 days until you posted on it and bumped it back to the top. Do you really want it to end???
