Ok, my sister watches the Disney Channel a lot and I actually noticed something that caught my interest. Soon (can't remember the date) they are going to premiere one of their (snicker) classic made-for-tv movies. This particular one is about a blind kid who can't seem to "fit in" and joins the wrestling team and does really good. I think it's called "Taking it to the mat."
Now, I've never EVER seen a movie (made-for-tv or otherwise) that involves (let alone revolves around) wrestling before. I think I'll actually watch this instead of sitting around and making fun of it while my sister is watching it.

I believe it's on March 19th. It stars Matthew Lawrence and Wayne Brady...ought to be good...I've seen a few wrestling movies, including that one that flopped in the box office about a year or two ago.

Yes, this Disney event looks crappy-to-the-max, but I bet it won't be as bad as the Saved By The Bell wrestling episode.
Pups--I can't believe you never saw Vision Quest. It is about the struggles of a high school wrestler with home life, making weight, and his aspirations of becoming a gynecologist. It is truly one of the worst movies ever made. A bunch of retards force themselves to like this movie because it is about wrestling, but deep down, everyone knows it sucks.
Congrats, Aquinas! Great job, Hat Town! Salyer Rules!

I hate Vision Quest, the dude must not care about wrestling to much because didn't he quit the team over a girl?

Reversal is better than Vision Quest, but it is not that good. The end of Reversal is really anti-climatic and depressing.....not what i would like to show to the non-wrestling commmunity.
When does the Disney movie air?

(from Disney Channel webstie)
GOING TO THE MAT
Jace Newfield's biggest problem isn't that he's the new kid at school...or that he's blind. It's that some of the kids think he's got an attitude problem. Now Jace needs to find a way to be accepted...and joining the wrestling team may be the answer. Will he learn that there's more to winning than meets the eye?
Premiers Friday, March 19th at 8pm/7c on Disney Channel!

I can't remember the name, Coach Alley if you read this Im sure you could name it. But theres a guy that wrestles a bear, and that about all I remember. Oh and it contains one guy calling another guy "buck-a-roo." We watched that one time on a wrestling road trip. It was quality.
Oh snap.

Yes, this Disney event looks crappy-to-the-max, but I bet it won't be as bad as the Saved By The Bell wrestling episode. The one in which the girl joins a team and the guy puts her in a full nelson (standing no less) and she uses the move she used at the Max to save Zach's rear? Is it that episode...heard a lot about it. How is reversal? any reviews on it? Is that the movie that had one of the Spates boys in it that came out about a year ago? Anyone who quits a wrestling team for a girl deserves to be shot... repeatedly! I had a girl that wanted me to follow my dreams of wrestling after we spent two years at junior college. She said I'll wait for you...go and wrestle and live your dreams, and I did! What a woman, I sure miss her though. theres a guy that wrestles a bear SHAWN SILVIS MEETS GRIZZLY ADAMS?

Reversal review off of my web page, will actually take you to another site is http://www.furches.org/writing/reviews/hollywood_jesus.html Just scroll down and click on the link, I actually have an interview with the makers of the movie and am pretty good friends with Jimi. I also have these movies for sale for those that are interested. I am using the money to take my son to Reno for the World's this year. Another good movie though that deals with wrestling is Paradise Alley with Sylvester Stallone. Vision Quest to me was a little overboard and not realistic enough, maybe only The Sweaz or Dingbat gets the girl like that, but most of us didn't. I'll watch the Disney movie but the previews look pretty hokey so far, have to wait and see.

I've seen Reversal, I think it's pretty good. I agree that the ending isn't as good as it could be, but I think it's better than vision quest. Plus, the wrestling clips in vision quest were choreographed, and the ones in reversal were not. They basically told them to go out there and wrestle; the whole ending sequence is raw wrestling. I'd recommend it.
