I figured I would update everybody on our good friend Chris Jennings, who wrestled Adam Knipp just a few minutes ago. Jennings lost 9-0 in a match where he was obviously not at his best.

I know a lot of you aren't necessarily fond of Jhris (who is closely related to Chris), but I just wanted to say that he's a very funny guy and a fine person. Even though he may rub you the wrong way, no one wrestles with more heart or was as dedicated to his team as Chris.

On any other day, Chris beats Knipp. That's not to take away from Adam, but I still firmly believe that Jennings is the best 215 in the state. A lot of people swear by Horinek, and I am sure he is an amazing wrestler, far better than I ever hoped to be. However, I am positive that Chris, when wrestling to his abilities, would beat him.

Some people will come on here and say, "to be the best, you have to beat the best" and stuff like that. But it's garbage, and you don't need to post it.

Chris (and Jhris), keep your head up high. You accomplished something that no one from your town ever has--a team title. Couldn't have done it without you, buddy.

Horinek would not be intimidated by the bright lights that would accompany a match of that caliber.

I have not always agreed with either of you two guys but have always enjoyed the intelligent wit that you both have. The fact that so many folks imitate your posts indicate that you both show leadership skills that I hope you'll take seriously as you age. I do truly feel for Chris, as he showed considerable confidence and skill as he improved over the season, and even though some disliked him, there were considerable wrestlers who looked at his steady, well-chronicled improvement and success with good feelings about their seasons-- Jhris kinda became everyman this season, and I am truly sorry that the ride didn't quite end like Jhris had hoped. Nevertheless, SUPERCONGRATS to the Hat Town team.... I didn't edit this one, and won't, because Prant needs the criticism practice. Go in peoace, you two, but not too far or too long. (Yes, Hat Town is Capital Letters.)

i have to adnmit, that even though jennings talked a lot on here, he never (in my memory) ever talked trash about how well he was doing. If he did, it was very sarcastic. Sometimes the best don't always have their day in the sun. Seen it too many times.

We all feel for Jennings, but i'm sure that the long awaited team title for Manhattan is comforting him now. If he gets too depressed he can always snuggle up next to the trophy tonight. Here are some things that i noticed at State. If you have any others, feel free to add them.

1. One of the refs looked amazingly similar to Bam Margera's dad Phil.

2. Bedore can throw absolutly anybody, including Lewis.

3. Dick Edwards must be missing one of their huge American flags thanks to the opening ceremony before finals.

4. When it comes to the women factor, spring break in Cancun has nothing on state.

5. 112lbers in the finals love to throw headlocks.

6. Marrs Bars is an absolute manster.

On the subject of funny refs, did anyone notice
-Popeye ref
-Elton John Ref
-Phil Margera ref (already mentioned)
-The ref that looked like the one guy from Seinfeld that called Jerry a "phony"
-Santa ref
-Jimmy Stewart ref (the actor, not the wrestler)
-Birdbeak McPointynose ref?

Oh yeah...this post is about chris...great weekend, buddy.

Congrats, Aquinas!
Great job, Hat Town!

I believe when you guys say "Phil Margera" ref, you actually mean "Al Borland" ref. I didn't see him this year so his appearance may have changed, but it is a travesty if the amazing actor Richard Karn (whose work includes Home Improvement and "MVP2: Most Vertical Primate") has so slipped in status that he is JV to Phil Margera.

And who can forget the phony ref? That guy is a classic.

When you say Popeye ref, I'm assuming you're talking about the guy with freaking huge arms?

Naturally. He had gigant arms, a huge back, and could not stop eating spinach the whole weekend. His girlfriend looks anerexic, though.

So this kid is putting on his shoes right, and his mom says, honey you're putting your shoes on the wrong feet, and the little kid says, no mom these are my feet

Prant, the reason that i called the ref "Phil Margera ref" was because he looked a little more hefty than Al Borland. But I have to agree, Richard Karn got robbed for the "best supporting actor in a movie with a skateboarding chimp" Oscar for his work in MVP2. Did the Popeye ref happen to have pictures of heavy machinery (jackhammers, engines, etc.) appear on his arms after eating the spinach?

Chewbacca--your knowledge of terrible movies and cartoons is impressive. However, you forgot to ask if he had permanent anchor tattoos on his forearms.

(Bonus points to anyone who goes and gets anchors tattooed on their arms because of this post.)

All this talk about bad movies reminds me of a contest that myself and Cerek Dorral had. We each rented the worst movie we could think of and forced the other person to watch it. I rented MVP Most Valuable Primate where the chimp plays hockey and hits obviously computer-generated slapshots. Cerek picked out Komodo, a movie about giant komodo dragons that live on an island and terrorize a family. Lets just say that on that night there were no winners.

Why do I get this urge to put an "end" to Chris Jennings.

So Hovpen has officially crossed over into the creepy category...

And Chewbacca, your challenge sounds like a great one. Have you ever seen MVP2? I have not, but I hear it is...well, awful. (Actually, I didn't hear it because no one has actually seen it.)

And in case you ever partake in that contest again, I suggest "Country Bears," a Disney movie about animatronic bears from a decades-old Disney "ride." Beary Bearington is a bear adopted by a human family--and he doesn't know he's a bear. (Only his brother recognizes that he is. His whole family and the police are in denial.) He then decides his higher calling is to reunite the Country Bears and save Country Bear Hall. He meets up with Queen Latifah, Oswald from the Drew Carey Show, Elton John, and Christopher Walken.

A star-studded cast for what is perhaps the worst movie of all time.

I'm a firm believe that excuses are sucky, but I have one for all of you....*sighs* One reason that I might have lost, other than totally sucking, is the fact that I have a completely torn MCL, which I tore a few days before regionals. It huuuuurt. I also heard that Cody Garcia did this as well, which gives us something in common. Of course being a total badass is another thing we have. JUST KIDDING. Sooo, yeah, Ryan Johnson is also a billy for toughing it out with a jacked up knee. Good for us knee folks.
