If I beat the #1 guy in 5a....shouldn't I be ranked #1 in 5a?

Are we talking witty banter, stealing, ego inflating, or wrestling?
You are number one in wrestling at your weight, you have proved that on the mat, but, dude your mouth is your worst asset and does very little to promote Manhattan wrestling. Don't you really understand why a lot of fans are not supportive of you? Are you really that dense?
I know that on one of posts you claim to be dumb, I don’t think you are – Why can’t you just wrestle and be a serious hero instead of a clown thief?

Jhris,

I think I may speak for a number of people when I say that I am tired of your me first, self-promoting attitude. Witty banter is one thing, but constantly tooting your own horn is neither funny nor respectable. Grow up.

Because I'm tooootally serious, you're all correct. I'm always talking about myself all the time 100%. But not really. I don't have a whole lot of posts talking about me if you will actually go back and look.

...feb 27th and 28th will end all speculation, go through that tournament, go undefeated, you are # 1....unless youre in the BCS :p
..heck there are all sort of errors in the rankings, kids that graduated last year are still ranked, kids affilated with the wrong school, wrong grade level etc etc...

i like being the underdog, being overlooked, being stealth, sneakin up on the competition...its so much more gratifying when you win..

I agree with the above. And, often times Jhris says things on this forum that are very mean spirited. "Shut up", "I dont like you", "I don't know you so go away" etc., etc., etc...

Then when others graciously point this out to him, he plays the victim... "Why is everybody picking on me..."

Previously Coach Lane wrote a very well thought out post regarding Jhris' problems on this forum. Jhris, please read it several times and self-reflect on its contents.

Jhris, please take some time and self-reflect. If people boo you at tourneys - my guess is the same as others - it because of the way you act on this forum. If you want to be treated like a gentleman, then act like one.

(Mat 7:12 NIV) So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

And, congrats on being undefeated so far. What a tremendous accomplishment. However, an even more tremendous accomplishment would be to see your attitude on this forum improve. You still have time to gain a fan base PRIOR to the state tourney! Please use your remaining time well.

(Col 4:5-6 NIV) Be wise in the way you act... make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

Do you want to be remembered as the biggest, most self-centered, immature jerk ever or as a kind and courteous young man who treated others with respect and dignity? Sooner or later we all reap what we have sown.

Think about it and good luck to you.

Col 3:23 also states

Work hard and cheerfully, at everything you do, as though working for the Lord and not man!

Just thought it was a great bible verse for all wrestlers to remember.

Hey Jennings - I'll say what I want to say. You sure can dish it out but you don't seem able to handle it back very well. And, of course you don't like me - fools don't like it when others tell them the truth.

(Prov 18:2 NIV) A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions.

Others have tried to help you (ie. Coach Lane) but you just don't get it. That is fine. I understand.

(Prov 24:7 NIV) Wisdom is too high for a fool; in the assembly at the gate he has nothing to say.

You are addicted to yourself and you just cant stop.

(Prov 26:11 NIV) As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.

And now, i graciously give you your wish. I will drop this sad and sorry topic in accordance with the wisdom below...

(Prov 23:9 NIV) Do not speak to a fool, for he will scorn the wisdom of your words.

I don't want to upset anyone, but could we please not have any more scripture on the wrestling talk forum. I personally don't think that God really cares whether or not Jhris is ranked first, or what anyone posts on the forum. Since very few of us actually know any of each other (I mean do we really?) it is impossible to judge any one of us. So, let's stick to the witty banter and leave the religion alone. Otherwise, "Get thee to a nunnery."

I agree. And for all of you who actually think I mean one word of what I say, I apologize. For you lead sad lives for even giving what I say a second thought. You're all obviously very upset with someone who doesn't really care about what they're posting. So I suggest that all of you chill out because I don't mean a word of what I say.

I think everyone needs to chill out and get off Jhris' back. And yeah, he should be #1.

I agree regarding the rankings and disagree regarding the posts. He does care how we treat one another. But I wont start preaching again.

It is sad that we have 'tolerance' for everything EXCEPT those that would like to share a word from the Bible with others. Lets talk about cheerleaders, mullets, underwear and all other such important topics... - but please no religion... (sic)

Anyway, back to wrestling and I'll try to stay on that topic. Where is Boleit (sp?)? The Zousas/Gilliland (sp) match might be one to go watch.

To Mr. Dwelsh:

I do not tolerate everything except religion. In fact, I am a Christian. I am not an iconoclast and would never want anyone to think that I am. My problem with quoting scripture in a non-religious context is rooted in a couple of areas. The first being that none of us come close to living up to Christ's standard or his teachings; all of us fall short and so I believe that when you quote from the Bible you are in a sense putting yourself on a pedestal and saying, "I am better than you are." The second, and not quite as strong I might add, conviction that I hold is that not everyone wants to hear your preacher speak, so why bother them?

So I hope that I have clarified myself and we can end this philosophical talk and get back to wrestling.

With respect to the post by Falstaff, not everybody wants to hear witty banter. We have as much a right to post quotes from scripture as we do to post comments about who we don't like or what we stole from the Holiday Inn. In the same respect, while some people may be offended by religion and scripture in such a public forum, it is quite possible that other people are offended by some of the other topics that are brought up on this forum. Let the moderators decide what stays and goes, and until then I will feel free to quote scripture, tell Jhris to grow up, or say whatever I please for that matter.
