One of them has to be matt bowers from rossville he is a strong wrestler who is bad *** on his feet he will be tought to beat another will be joey bruster from silver lake i cant wait till those two wrestle
i would say 171 is as stacked as it gets, statewide. mike stienmezt, nate payne, and kurtis baylor are all past state champs .the top 6 in 4a are all medal winners last year. kyle flory, kyle davis, kurtis baylor, brandon sommer, jake weishaar, ryan kromer, blake malloy, kyle frank, the list goes on and on. it is one tough weight.
I believe Kromer was a state champ at 152 last year for Garden City. And he is at 171 this year. I was impressed with him earlier this year.
Bobby Dennis from Oakley placed 3rd last season for Oakley at 152. And Kromer only beat him 1-0 at the Colby Duals. He can hold his own at the weight too.
Tucker Olsen from Colby has improved a lot too and he is at 171. He might not be in the top ten of this tough weight class yet, but look for good things out of him this year.
If you are just listing the top 10 I don't think you should leave out Matt Wintz from Derby or John Sponsel from Bishop Carroll. But we will know more after this weekend at Derby. Kyle Davis of Rose Hill, Blake Malloy of Shawnee Heights, Kyle Frank of Lawrence Free State, Wintz and Sponsel will all be there. We will update you on Monday about who came out on top.
