Ron is 45, but coached middle school wrestling for 3 years without being apart of the High School in the late 90's. Harry I am really impressed with you team this year, all your kids are looking tuff. Should be a great dual on Thursday. I think Lansing also wrestles SFT Tomorrow, rescheduled for the 3rd time. Ron might have to wait until the following week to get his 200th. How old are you?

Check Dennis Switzky from Seaman.
If memory serves me correctly, he got his 200th dual victory in '97.

Are we just talking active coaches or all time? Because I'd say that I could probably come up with a few real fast if not active.

Feel free to send records for any active or retired coaches who you know of who've reached 200 wins. It'd be nice to compile as thorough of a historical list as possible so we can build more of a historical record for the sport. I helped update the Kansas all-time winningest volleyball coaches' list this fall, and it'd be neat to do it for wrestling too. At tonight's dual, Lansing beat Hiawatha, 72-3, for Ron Averill to reach 200 wins. Then Silver Lake beat Hiawatha, 66-7, and beat Lansing, 36-30, for Harry LaMar to reach 200 wins. Lansing vs. Silver Lake was absolutely fantastic to watch! Two teams to look out for at state. Career records as of Jan. 21, 2005... Ron Averill: 200-70-1. Harry LaMar: 200-71-1.

What about some of the guys out west like Coach Baker(Hoxie), Coach Gabel(St.Francis), Coach Johnson(Norton)? All of them have had some successful programs.

I'd like to know the records of Coach Charbonneau (Clay Center), Christner (Ex-Abilene), and Warkentine (Ex-Salina South)?...those guys have/had quality programs....also, what is coach Flores record? (I'm thinking he was at Leoti and then Atchison County currently)

I gotta think that Rocky Welton would be at the top, along with Jake Durham and Peckinpaugh at Hoxie. Also, Dale Samuelson out of Oakley should be pretty impressive , and when you look at the successes of Scott City since the early 80's, they would almost have to have an average of 10-12 dual wins annually, so I think Lipplemann should be up well over 200 wins. Gabel from Sainty may not be young, but that's (fortunately) not a qualification to coaching greatness. I know that Jake and Gabel also had kids that were champions, and baker and Bahe. What about coach moore at Abeline, and the coach at Clay? This post is really food for thought, and it seems that there is no easily accessible source to glean this data from. somehow, though, I would think that Welton or Durham, or maybe the early (50's and 60's ) coach out at St. Francis (I want to say Buzz Matson) would likely be the honored guy.

I believe if the Clay Center/Hat Town dual is rescheduled and Manhattan wins it, it would be Coach Wee Loodford's 200th dual win. He hasn't lost a dual since 2000, when Berek Dunker got stuck after a spiral ride from the standing position. At that same meet on the JV mat (where Prant was located), Hatt Meerman stuck Paustin Ruser of Clay Center. (That's right--our JV 135er stuck a state champ. 6A rules. Ha.)
Dunker later went on to win state, causing Prant to pee his pants in excitement.
Anyone know if Hat Town and Clay Center will do battle?
