Brian Harris was a take down machine. He could snap and spin like no other. He was quicker than anyone I have seen in a long time.

Egg, it was Leon that Gary was wrestling and it happened in 1969. I wrestled in that tourney in the next weight up. Gary was a great single legger, one of the best. It was such a shock to everyone that he did what he did because Leon was so good on his feet as well. Leonard was the older one that was the NAIA national champion.

Egg that was Duane Warner who coached at Garden City and his brother was Dwight who just got married and became a rich rancher lol. They were both very very good wrestlers.

I was going to say the same thing. EK Franks was fun to watch. I always liked watching Alan Hankins from Ark City also, he had an awewome ankle pick.

lol yes I do remember them. There were a bunch of them werent there. I didn't even put Justin Ware and Temor Terry on there but they might just be at the top of the list. I didn't know how good Justin was until I coached a kid against him and he was way better than I thought and I thought he was great. He was super smooth and had the whole package, speed, strength, and technique. It is fun to watch the good takedown guys isn't it.

Considering Bo Maynes was never taken down in high school, my vote would be for him. Of this year's 321A state tournament, my vote would be for either Eric Johnson or James Annon. Eric hit 3 "textbook" takedowns on Pyle in the semis (which is pretty much what is needed to take down Pyle). Even though I was cheering against Annon in the finals, I still have to admit he's awfully good on his feet. Just goes to show what wrestling in the summer can do for you.

Sean Bunch(Leavonworth),Bobby Lashley (Junction City), Sean West (Liberal), Martin Segovia (Garden City), Wes Walker, Britt Madison (Ulysses),, they put on many takedown clinics through the years.

Brook Medrano was the best I ever saw. He was a machine. No wait a minute, Maynes and Roberson were the best I have seen even though I never saw them that much. I decided to change my mind because of what someone else posted. Would somebody else please post so I could really make up my mind?
Enough poking at poor Matt Smith or whatever his or her name is.
Seriously, Justin Ware and Teomor Terry were both awesome. To toss in a new name for a bigger guy, how about Roy Oeser?
The takedown king label has to go to Bo Maynes! While on a defensive note, and maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think Maynes was ever taken down during his four years.
Guys, you've had it wrong all these years, send your wife in to cry about junior being overweight (As long as your in District 1).
