this will defiently be the best finals match at the 3-2-1a tournament this year. these two wrestlers are outstanding and if either one of them dropped a weight or went up a weight they would defiently win that weight hands down. but i think that pyle will pull it off in overtime, but if it goes to double ot it just depends on who wins the coin toss, cause they will win state.

These two guys are both excellent however "definitely" the best finals match I would not be so sure.
There are a lot of "potential" great match-ups.

how could you not say this will be the best 3-2-1a finals match, both wrestlers will crush anybody if they were at 135 or 145. they are by far 2 of the best wrestlers in 3-2-1a right now a potential 4x state champ and a potential 4x state placer potential 3x state finalist. both have been crushing oppents throughout the year. tell me about a better finals match this year and i will tell you about a liar.

That last statement takes a lot away from the other great wrestlers in the other 13 weights. I've been to State for several years and there are
many great matches and some are not in the finals
either. It should be another great State Tournament.

it kind of reminds me of all the talk last year about Miller of Oberlin being the best wrestler and being able to win any other class above or below him. He finished 3rd. They better look at Regionals first. There is no quarantee they will even meet let alone in the finals. I could name Staab and Page, Martin and Johnson and many more as "potential" great match ups. I think they all need to think about the next match they are going to wrestle instead of the last one or the next one may be the last one.

Pyle will probably win the rematch, but Shawn isn't wrestling 140 by accident, he has something to prove.

that is exactly what i am trying to say, drennen could go up and be the heavy favorite to win 145 but he chooses to stay at 140. i was just trying to say that when you have a wrestler who could be a heavy favorite in another weight but choose to stay where he is the underdog, means that emotions will be high and the match will be great. but like i said earlier pyle wins in overtime, if goes anyfuther all depends on who wins the coin toss.

oh yes that part about crushing anybody at 135 and 145. They call that arrogance. However take nothing away from the kids they should not be held accountable for your loose lip. They are not running off at the mouth

fanatic, you are right i was wrong in saying that it will "defiently" be the best finals match, the correct term i should have used should be "Probably", but the fact remains that at 135 or 145 drennen or pyle would win it, i mean springstead will probably win 135 (5th at 135 last year) and gentry will most likely win 145 (3rd at 135 last year)both of whom have been beat by pyle or drennen or by both. so lets just leave it at that, good luck to all wrestlers, and pyle and drennen good luck on what i know will be a great match if you two meet.

I guess I missed it. I don't remember Gentry wrestling either or Springstead wrestling Drennan at least not this year. Pyle and Drennan are Great. Yes I will let it go at that.

I remember last year out at state J.B. Harding from Norton, heavy favorite to win state again. But there was a freshman from Hoxie who came into state with nothing to lose and upset Harding. I know I thought that it would be a match dominated by Harding. But as we later found out Harding lost. Just thought that I would give everybody a quick reminder of what happened last year. I know Drennen and Pyle aren't exactly like this but it's a close comparsion.

What if Drenen and Pyle get stuck on the same side? Then it would be drenen/Pyle v probably Morris.

I was fortunate enough to grow up near Pyle. He is a kid of class and much more. I always loved watching him wrestle, because he just keeps pounding away. I have never seen or heard of Dreenan? Pyle is an all around athlete with heart, and desire. Does anybody remember how he dominated Miller? I now only get to watch Miller since he is at an opposing school rival to Labette. What I can say is that Miller is still tough in college. This leads back to Pyle who was only a sophomore when he wrestled Miller. Not trying to take anything from Dreenan, but I think that he will have his hands full.

Drennan was the runner-up last year to Pyle. Miller and Pyle met in the semi-finals. Pyle and Drennan wasn't really a close match but I think anyone knowledgable knows Drennan is for real! "IF" they meet this year it "COULD" be a great match-up.

I have seen both wrestle this year. I have to go with Pyle as the defending state champion. I think he is the better of the two. I also think ANYONE can be beat and think it is possible Drennan could win the match. I think taking Pyle down is the key to beating him. I have seen it done but if somebody dances around with him it won't happen. Pyle won't dance very long.

last year in this match neither Pyle or Drennan scored any near falls. There were four takedowns and Pyle got all four.
