k-dogg, I think you mean Choctaw (heck, close enough anyway now that we both probably butchered it) and Powell is at Nebraska now, or was so I'm sure him and Roberson talk every once in a while.
Best match I've seen this year off the top of my head had to be:
Colby Monnington v. Luke Geske in the finals of Herington Tournament

If we are going all-time, I have heard the Murray (Colby) and Harris (Eudora) semi-final match-up a few years back was one for the ages.
I also remember an incredible match between Butch Kerns (Plainville) and Todd Plummer (Oakley) in the 1989 3-2-1A state title bout that was wall to wall action.

Les is right, the Kerns/Plummer match was a classic. In fact there was a flurry of scoring at the end of the match that neither of the 2 referees could keep up with. I remember how tense the coliseum was as the referees conferred at the table for a few minutes to sort it out and the wrestlers remained in the circle to await the outcome. Nobody knew who won until the referee slowly raised Kerns hand. Great sportsmanship shown by both the elated winner and the heart-broken loser. The type of moment that sets wrestling apart from ALL other sports.

Kdogg13- I wasnt aware that Jason Powell and Zach Roberson had a high school match up. How bad did Roberson beat Powell? Powell is a stud, 2x all-american and ranked first in the nation in some polls....thats a feather in Roberson's hat beating a guy like that.

This was in a tourny during high school's off season a couple of years ago. Roberson was a little too big for Powell by matchtime, but it was sweet seeing the setups and shots these two were attempting. Great match, with Roberson controlling the tempo and grinding out a close win.

Grater vs. Hill match at Newton was great to watch. Hill was a nat's A$$ from scoring a takedown at the end of regulation when Grater's great hips flipped and after the mad scramble Grater had Hill on his back. Ended 7-2 Grater. But, Hill was very close to winning 4-3.

So this kid is putting on his shoes right, and his mom says, honey you're putting your shoes on the wrong feet, and the little kid says, no mom these are my feet

I dont know how many people would agree but i thought the Kyle Earhart-Caleb Galemore was a good match at Chanute, Earhart won 9-4 or something like that in overtime.

I remember the Robert Rogers of Central Kansas vs Shane Roller of Bixby at the Tulsa Nationals!! Great match!! Had the referee given Robert his back points after scoring 2 on the reversal Robert would have walked away with the W!! I found it odd that the referee's along with matt security walked in did that paticualr match and walked out. I didnt see where a referee walked in and did a one match rotation in the entire tourny. Ohh well Robert went on to become a 4 x champion in High school in Texas!! Great kid!!
