Personally, I think the Eagle should do a story on High School Wrestling. I am not that familiar with wrestling. I am however impressed with the sacrafices ,dedication and pure atheleticism of the kids. For the most part I am impressed with the discipline and the type of kids that participate in wrestling. There will be a great match 1/08/05 at Newton. The headline should read THE TRAIN WRECK at the Newton Railer gym .This is what competition and atheletics are all about. The match Cornejo and Grater. There will be other great matches, Baldreidge, Sponsel vs Marrs, This should be a showcase event in area High Scholl wrestling.

Predictions are great but these guys still have to get to the finals. The 145lbs. bracket is loaded with an awful lot of good young men anything is possible.

The 130lb and 145lb weightclass at the Carroll invitational wasn't as tough as I thought it would be. It is only my opinion but I thought because guys bumped around to stay away from Baldridge and Cornejo that 135 and 140 was very tough. Newton should be great and there may be several train wrecks. Tyler Adcock may hit headon with Mitch Arnold at 135 would be a great match, those are two excellent wrestlers one a freshman one a senior. Goodluck to all wrestlers.

Mike , You see it the same way I do . I am just listing the main matches, Mitchell against Tyler, who is a good friend of Mitchell, is a little stronger . This is just 1 of the many matches , that will showcase High School wrestling. Then there is the rematch of David Loos and the kid from Campus. Tom Mc Donald.

Cornejo was listed as wrestling at 140 for the Ark City dual. Looks like he may be dropping down to put Chrisman at 145 and Anderson at 152??

Not sure if everyone is aware of this, but Perry, OK. will be in attendance this year. I believe, last I checked, they were #1 ranked tournament team and the #2 ranked dual team in their classification. Not sayin us Kansas boys can't beat up on some OK guys, but they will surely compete well. They might be a determining factor as to how some of the "favorites" do as a team.

I apologize. Perry is the 4th ranked dual team in their classification. With the following ranked wrestlers: Wt. name ranking 112- Hughes 5 119-Spaulding 2 135-Swan 3 140-Workman 4 152- Muir 3 160- Sikes 1 171- Ward 3 189-Branscum 3
Perry is a 2A high school in Oklahoma. Don't know how that stack up against classifications in Kansas, but they look tough on paper.

I think Ark City is making a comeback as a dual team, they are looking good. I don't know much about Manhattan or Perry. I pick Ark City or Carroll to win Newton as a team. Your right ksbevo the Loos kid from Carroll and the Campus kid who's name is Anderson not sure if its Andy or David both Aderson's are good and I get them mixed up would be a good final's match i'm not so sure Loos can beat Anderson twice so it should be good, but just like the rest of the weight classes there are alot of good wrestler's so they have to get there 1st. CAN'T WAIT

just alittle background information on perry, bishop carroll and ark city both attended the perry oklahoma tournament and both finished above them, one 3rd, one 5th with perry 6th... not taking anything away from the team from the land down under... but they are just another team, nothing to be afraid of!
and 152 will be STACKED... mcgrew- ark city, loos-carroll, anderson-campus, muir- perry, manis- valley center

How can you say manhattan is not good? They are just as good this year as they were last and they have alot of depth. I wouldnt count manhattan out at this tourney.
