Back in 2003 Intermat had this list out for Kansas Seniors. Note the difference in ELITE Status and TOP Wreslter Status and then check out the names on the list.
InterMat guide lines for inclusion in list:
Elite - Good division I talent
Top Wrestlers - Lower division I or very good division II or III talent
Note: These list are developed by coaches or key contact from the respective state. The wrestlers are placed according to talent and do not take into consideration grades, attitude, etc. The list would become extremely difficult if we incorporate all information that contributes to a wrestlers success at the college level.
-------------------------------------------------
Seniors ('03) Elite Wrestlers: Rank Name School 02-03 Weight 1. Tanner Gardner Shawnee Heights 119 2. Shawn Drennan Minneapolis 145 3. Eric Johnson Norton 145 4. Stewart Bogart Shawnee Mission South 140 5. Tyler McCormick Blue Valley North 125 6. Zach Hemmerling Hutchinson 275
Top Wrestlers: Name School 02-03 Weight Earl Jones Coffeyville-Field Kindley 130 Matt Englebert Beloit 145 Eric Luedke Colby 145 Matt Pyle Sabetha 145 Derek Bunker Manhattan 160 Phil Hart Shawnee Heights 160 John Sponsel Bishop Carroll 171 Eric Pingleton Mill Valley 189 Ty Richardson Ark City 189 Keith Sponsel Bishop Carroll 189 Jacob Strait Concordia 189 Matt Mock Wichita South 275

Tanner Gardner was an NCAA Qualifier last year, and was just named one of the team captains for Stanford.
Eric Johnson is at UCO battling to make the varsity lineup at 149 I believe.
Earl Jones 2x NJCAA Champion at Labette. Now at UCO battling for the starting 133 spot with All American Jarred Henning.
Matt Pyle of Luther was a DIII National Champion this past year.
Tyler McCormick started some for Missouri last year.
Phil Hart was at FHSU last I heard battling for a starting job.
Anybody know where the rest are?

Head Coach Brian Smith Announces Team Captains ...Askren, McCormick, and Foust Will Lead Tigers in 2005-06 ...
Sept. 8, 2005
Columbia, Mo. - Missouri Wrestling Head Coach Brian Smith announced today that Ben Askren, Tyler McCormick, and Jeff Foust have been named team captains of the 2005-06 squad.
Foust, a senior from Blue Springs, Mo., was the Big 12 Champion in 2004 at 197 pounds and earned the Most Improved Wrestler award from the coaches at the end of the 2003-04 campaign. An NCAA qualifier that same year, Foust will again headline Missouri's lineup at 197 pounds, while providing valuable leadership in the locker room.
A junior, Askren (Hartland, Wis.) is the only returning captain from last year's team, which placed 11th at the NCAA tournament, the second-highest finish in Tiger history. Askren rewrote the Mizzou record books last season, breaking MU records for most consecutive wins (26) and most falls in a season (20) on his way to a second-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
Leawood, Kan., native McCormick was tabbed captain after grappling his way to a 20-14 record last year and receiving the Marshall Esteppe Most Outstanding Freshman award. Strong in the classroom, McCormick earned the Total Person Program Academic Excellence Award, given to the Missouri wrestler with the highest grade-point average.
The Tigers open their season Nov. 11 against Stanford in Kansas City, Mo. For ticket information, stop by the ticket office in Mizzou Arena or call 1-800-CAT-PAWS. -MU-
