Well said, colt wrestler. Another thing to do would be stop drinking pop. Just doing that will cut about five pounds. Also, stop snacking. Three meals a day is plenty, you fat piece. Man up and stop eating so much. As for me, I'll be eating all I want. I've done that not eating stuff. Mmm...pie.

you can eat...but Atkins Diet....stay away from too many carbs (bread/pasta) go for fruit or natural juices for carb need....drink plenty of water to flush your system....if all else fails....drink soap...you'll crap it out...and it's not season right now...so you can do no no things....(not reccommending it though) How about this...if you have a slow computer modem...do pushups while waiting for screen to pop up or even Tv...during commercials...makes watching the show a lil healthier....watch Fear Factor and do the stuff they do....you'll lose weight!!!!

go running for an hour before you eat anything, it burns more calories.
Attack a persons strengths, not their weakness

I just posted information on my web site regarding weight cutting. There are several links posted that I believe come from the most sensible, realistic and appropriate web sites on the internet. Check out the links on my site at: http://www.furches.org/wrestling/links.html The links regarding safe weight cutting are at the bottom of the page.

Well not that im advocating it but many wrestlers prefer the good old running in rubber suits, plastic bags, salads, routine. im just glad I don't have to do that anymore.

I always thought that running in rubbersuits/plasics, is not only illegal, but also stupid and shines a very bad light on wresling. running to lose some water weight the day of a tournoment is ok, but running to lose water weight 6 days before a tournoment is a good way to get very dehidrated. i always try to drink lots of water untill about thursday. that way your still hydrated day of tournoment.I also drink this stuff called pedialight ater weigh in. I guess they give it to kids with diaria to keep them hydrated and keep them from pooing. and it works really good for both. it will make you retain water, but for like 3 days so maybe not a good idea of you have a midweek dual followed by a tournoment or something. But anyway loosing lots of water is a bad idea i think.
use your head, sacrifice your body, wrestle with all your heart, you will win

Im not so sure if I agree with the whole rubber suits thing. As a coach its my job to tell my kids that they shouldn't be doing it and if they get caught they won't be allowed to wrestle. However as a wrestler I know that it happens everyday of the season and will continue to happen. Wrestlers often get a bad rap because ever so often one of us dies from being irresponsible about the amount of weight that is lost. Losing water weight is good in the short run, im talking about losing about 5-6 pounds during the week to make weight for saturday. But trying to lose 10+ water weight pounds is not smart. I had guys on my team in high school that routinly came into practice on monday 8+ pounds over weight and had until thursday morning to get it off and they would do it. I tell all my wrestlers now that they have to make the decision on how they lose their weight because im not their babysitter. But I also tell them that they better be ready to face the consequences of their actions if they make the wrong decision. The best way to lose permanent weight is drink a lot of water eat very little carbohydrates and workout really hard.

Join the x-country team and do whatever they do. U will feel like ur going to die during those insane run workouts, but u will be lean, mean and in **** good shape! I'd say run with them tues, thurs and run on ur own on saturdays. Lift mon, wed and fri.
