maybe if it were the entire state of Kansas vs. missouri's entire state it would have been better.
How about the KC Metro face the 100 mile radius or so from Salina area?

I say we just do an all state dual. Whats the hurt in that? i bet we would win if we could pull from all our talented wrestlers across the state.
With the power of Ra!

the problem with the metro is that KS best is in the west and MO best is in the west. so you get the weaker part of KS against the better part of MO
all 3 class MO state champions are from the metro and of the top 15 teams, 9 are from the metro
KS had a down year. all the good wrestlers from the metro on the KS side are juniors and sophs.
oh well, it is a fun event to go see and gives wrestling more hype

I don't know Vikes. I see that you are from Gardner, thats pretty far east. I have lived in the west for over 14 years and find the west part of the state pretty arrogant about their wrestling, but I don't know if the stats support their position. I could not help but notice last year that there were 7 Kansas wrestlers in the NCAA Div. I championships and 4 of them were from eastern Kansas. Five if you count Manhattan as eastern, and you probably should. The same will be true in this year's national tournament. Also, I might add that before the East/West Classic became the Senior classic, the east held a substantial lead in wins over the west.

I dont get it. Everyone knows that if your born in and raised in Western Kansas your just naturally going to be a better wrestler.
So my question is why dont all of you Western Kansas studs challenge Ponderosa High School (Eastern Colorado) to a dual and quit Bit*hing about what happens in eastern part of the state.
(Hoxie vs Ponderosa?)
That way after 1 single Eastern Colorado School Kicks as* on all of Wertern Kansas then the Eastern half of the state of Kansas could talk sh*t on you for weeks at a time.

i was speaking of this year. i know there have been some great kids from the east. also, being DI in wresting is not the same as most sports. there are some really good kids that could beat the DI wrestlers that are wrestling DII or NAIA
and I have lived in Gardner for 1 year. I have lived my whole life in KC, and seen tons of wrestling and kids come out of this area. in fact I have coached against Johnson, Dyer, Bunch, Gardner, Coleman, Klein, Carroll, Beltran and Roberson.
the MO kids from schools like Oak Park, Oak Grove, Platte County, etc are bred bad asses.
i just feel that if we could have had kids from the west this year, KS would have done much better at the metro

Who cares about this still?
So this kid is putting on his shoes right, and his mom says, honey you're putting your shoes on the wrong feet, and the little kid says, no mom these are my feet
