he didn't show up for his last match at regionals, thus by not showing up he was not allowed to compete is my understanding

I cant imagine after many... many ..years of being involved in wrestling and hours upon hours of practice over the years... that he wouldnt show up.. that absolutely doesnt make any sense.Lots of discussion about the real reason...but assuming thats true and not the other reasons given like academically ineligable..or sickness,,,,perhaps we ought to change the wrestling format to a time or appointment basis so wrestlers would know exactly what time they will be wrestling...that way the kshaa couldnt exclude an almost certain state champion like the knox boy..its to bad if what you say is true..yet he should have been given another chance ..i guess he will learn from the school of hard knocks if he failed to show up on time.

I don't know if he would have been a guaranteed state champion this year, but he certainly had as good of a shot as anyone. It is a shame that Knox is being held out of competition.
Does anyone know why this rule is in place? What does it matter if the wrestler does not show up for the consolation finals? If any of you older, wiser, smarter rules buffs would enlighten me, I would appreciate it.

Well Prant why should you be allowed to wrestle if you're not going to show up for your matches. I mean if he was hurt and getting medical attention I could see that. But to just leave is unacceptable.

I thought the rule was you had to show up even in default...then sign the bount sheet which is all sent on to the State Committee...but if they wouldn't send him, they could have at least got took the 2 guys that lost in the semis of that regional and pig tailed them in to this week....My opinion though.
