Wrestlers stand together, battle together, and leave nothing behind when it matters, just the nature of the sport. What do you have to lose at state? I know I left everything I had on the mat and I have nothing to be ashamed of..... no one at state should

The score should have been 3-3 or the ref should have awarded no points as no one wrestler had secured the takedown on the mat long enough to maintain complete control. I feel this match should have went into overtime, but that's just me. Trust me it is not just you. I was wondering how Elliott was awarded the takedown when Peterson had the same basic positioning on Elliott and didn't get awarded. I think it was just a missed call.

Peterson did not have a wizzard and Elliott had the supporting points and control of Peterson after the scramble.

Exactly Mr. Salyer and anyone who didn't see the wizzard is welcome to come over to my house and watch the tape. :-)

I didn't see the wizard then as I thought Peterson was locked around the body with both Elliott's hands down. So if he had the wizard then it was an excellent call. I guess I just missed it.

This is just me but the 145lb match in 6A was a pretty intense match it left me not knowing who won until Cottons hand was raised.

i think the best match was zahm vs erisman but watching taplin and wiscombe wrestle there matches was also impressive because them to are the best in the state. Wiscombe beat both the 6a and 5a state champm this year. he is the best 171 pounder in kansas and taplin is the best 160 pounder. Connelly and eden from santa fe trail are also great to watch too.

My vote goes to Zahm-Erisman. Fantastic match! The look on Zahm's face after he made his move for the final point was absolutely classic, as I'm sure all of you who saw it will attest to. Right after spinning behind Erisman, Zahm looked up at the clock and saw about three seconds left and this look of shock broke out on his face that basically said, "Oh my God, I'm gonna do it!" It was one of those moments that defines what the state tournament's all about. Cheers to both of them for one heck of a match!

I think that Nick Zahm deserved it just as much though. I'm not questioning how much Erisman wanted it, but I know from talking to Nick and watching the match that he just flat out wanted it more. Congragulations to Nick on an excellent high school career and on winning a state title.
