I was wondering what the weight classes were going to be for the sunflower state games? Is it going to be every ten Lbs. If anyone has some info please reply.

corey bloodgood:

Umm...im not really sure if i am. If my best friend (ali sultani) does it then i will definitely be there. I am still considering if i should, since i am so out of shape and weigh close to 140. Corey, r u going to compete, how much do u weigh and what weigh will u be around the sunflower state games....?

Ahh it never hurts to wrestle up a few pounds, it will only make your stronger. I haven't had the chance to wrestle once since kids got over and im about 185 right now so there is no way I'll be wrestling at the games. Like Prant said I think I'll be in the retired class this year.

Nigel is exactly right, it never hurts to wrestle up a couple of pounds. Heck it never hurts just being on the mat and competing. I hoped on seeing Nigel at the tournament. Since he is always on here criticizing people. Oh well maybe some other time?

I took my kid last year. We payed our entry fee, payed for a motel, and spent 3 hours getting there. the gym wasn't air conditioned so they shortened the freestyle matches to 1/2 the time. Scott had to go up in age and weight just to get ONE match which was only 1 period. We won't be going back.

I had heard that they were going to fix those problems this year but im not sure. Sorry Aaron I won't be there I had too much other stuff going on, its to bad you don't go to K-State you could wrestle in the intermural tournament. I think im going ot be in that this year if I can get a sulley for my shoulder. Its been over a year since I've wrestled competitvly so im kinda anxious. I just hope I don't pull my shoulder out again cuase it really really hurts.

have gone to the sunflower games twice, once at
Allen field house, lot of fun, no ac but big fans and some comfort, pretty laid back environment, and the next time at the new lawrence facility, air conditioned but poorly organized and not enough competitors to make decent brackets so 3 or 4 wieght brackets combined. kinda hard to justify spending the money to go 1/2 way accross the state to wrestle and not know who , how many, or how big you may have to wrestle. all that aside, the main drawing card to me was always that it was the only place that you could get in a folkstyle tourney in the summer. my son doesn't wrestle freestyle so that was always a reason to go.
