Just returned from the Centennial League Tournament and would like to get an answer from someone who knows the rules. I seen quite a few wrestlers who have pulled their bottom part of their singlets way up their legs. Is there a rule about how far up the legs a singlet can be pulled up or not? I am in no way trying to take anything away from these wrestlers as most of them are really outstanding wrestlers. But there was one young man who if he had pulled his singlet up about 1/2 of an inch more you would have seen butt checks. Is this a good way to promote the sport? A discussion was made during the finals of this one individual and a spectator (who really is NEW to the sport) mentioned it looked like he was wearing a speedo. That made me think this fan was right and is this the image that wrestlers and coaches are trying to promote. I know Gardner has done this for quite some time, but is it right? And no Gardner is not the one I have mentioned here. Just trying to educate myself a little. Please help if you know how the rule is stated.

why does it matter what anyone thinks. if these wrestlers want to be individuals then let them. a lot of wrestlers think it's cool. an old school thing, and if other people can't realize that kids are out there having fun and not hurting anyone. then they don't need to be around such a great sport were kids don't have to be told there to little or to big, just be yourself.

You know, for once, I actually agree with thegrimmwrestler. (Except for all the spelling mistakes. Fix those, and that's kind of what I think.)

Unfortunately, it's not always the wrestlers who do this. I know our finals singlets always start out at normal length, but then when you move an inch you get instant cameltoe, and you can't get them to stay down. Not cool.

Pulling up ur singlet to a reasonable length is cool, but too high can get a little out of hand. Venegas pulls his singlet up just a little high for my tastes.

Prant,

You are the only guy I have ever heard of getting camel toe. Hmmmm. Suspicious.

Oh and Rule 4 Section 1 Article 1 b. says: either full-length tights with stirrups and close fitting outside short trunks or a properly cut one-piece uniform with a minimum 4-inch inseam and maximum length above the knee

Actually, with dudes I think the more accurate term is "moose knuckle." So we'll say I have that.

Does the inseam thing really make a difference? Couldn't someone argue that their inseam was 4", even though it was hiked up really high? The rule is ambiguous.

(Oh, and Venegas: eww.)

I don't know about the rule but it sure does look homosexual.

Yes, Prant, the rule is as ambiguous as Ace and Gary. But as long as your inseam is 4 inches long, you can hike it up as far as you want.

A heavyweight with Daisy-Dukes? Sick, dude.

I don't agree with you grimmwrestler. I see boys being told all the time that they are too big or to little and need to cut or gain weight. What other sport do you know that has you cut weight to be better?

id like to think that wrestling takes the weight loss thing much farther than any of those mentioned jobs and sports. Some of the sports, even if u dont lose the weight, u still get to compete. With wrestling, u dont make weight, u dont wrestle. simple as that. Id say boxing comes closest to weight cutting comparable to wrestling.

Pretty funning how you guys have taken a topic which is really just a question and turn it into cutting weight. Thanks Mr. Lane for the info.

The coolest singlet I ever saw was the kind that was made out of cotton and had a "hatch" located in the crotch area that could be opened allowing one to taking a dump with the singlet still on.

I don't believe I've ever witnessed the grand sight of an "easy moose-knuckle access singlet." I think this would look quite dapper draped on my masculine physique. Also, I hope no wrestlers decide to take this singlet hiking trend to the extreme and give themselves spandex man-thongs.

P.S. Doug Hoover was another singlet hiking perpetrator.

It was a friend of mine's father's singlet from the olden days. I never thought of using it as a way of getting to another's "moose knuckle" as you were quick to point out.

Are you implying that me and my new avatar are gay?
