I am helping with the Colby College Tournament this weekend and have not been able to get my fix of high school wrestling for the week - am kind of going through withdrawal!
Does anyone have any results for Friday's Hoxie vs. St. Francis Dual, along with any match-by-match hi-lites?
How about day one at Liberal?
And, finally, does anyone know where the Norton Tourney results will be posted?

I hope this results are close, I know the wins and losses are right, not sure of some of the scores. Hoxie did win the dual, St Francis had 15 points and won 4 matches, but I think St Francis could have won a few more matches as we were leading in 3 matches and then lost. 160 Ross lead until the last 30 sec, 189 Hilt and 215 Walz both were leading and got caught in quick pins. I will list SF first then Hoxie.
103 T Richard L - Fall to C. Farber 112 D Loyd W 4-2 over Shamberger 119 M Brown L Tech Fall to T Baker 125 G Geinger L Fall to T Spillman 130 K Brown L Fall to M Gilliland 135 D Rohweder L Fall to M Schippers 140 T Zweygardt L Fall to J Schippers 145 G Smull L Fall to K Schamberger 152 T Hilt W by Dec over J Lewis 160 D Ross L 10-7 to D Campbell 171 K Buffington W Fall over R Shipley 189 T Hilt L Fall to J Cooper 215 D Walz L Fall to F Pratt 275 G Walz W Dec over D Cooper

Thanks for the help.
Is Ross the jv kid that wrestled in the NWKL last year and scored some big wins?
Do you have an overview of the Schamberger vs. Loyd match. A couple of pretty talented freshman going at it there!
Thanks.

Yes, Derek Ross is the JV kid that beat defending state champion Blake Pilkington last year at the NWKL tournament in Oakley. He has improved from last year and the only way that he can be beat is if he beats himself. He was leading Doug Campbell (currently ranked #1) by a score of 6-1, but ended up losing 7-6 because he slipped and eneded up on his back at the end of the match.
The Loyd vs. Schamberger match was pretty exciting, but Loyd dominated throughout. As for Hilt and D. Walz at 189 and 215, Hilt was leading Cooper (currently #3) by a score of 6-1 and got caught on his back and ened up getting pinned. As for D. Walz, he wrestled his worst match of the year last night. He didn't do anything on his feet and he let Pratt control the tempo of the match. He tried a throw toward the end of the second period, but was caught on his back and got pinned. I look for him to come back strong and I personally feel sorry for whoever he has to wrestle next week and in the weeks to come.
Keep your eye on all four of these guys from St. Francis along with Trey Hilt. They will open some eyes at the end of the year.

Sainty does have a good, young team this year - with a very bright future.
I'd have to question your confidence at some of the weights though - those are some pretty tough standards to live up to when you compete in the good ol' NWKL! Especially at 215 with Bedore, Horinek.......
Too bad they don't wrestle three one minute periods, huh?

It really doesnt matter when, how, or why you get caught does it? All that really matters is the win. Am I right. Maybe thats just the way I feel about things.
