I know no one really cares about JV (except the JV wrsetlers themselves), but I want to know who are the JV studs this year, what weightclass, and what is keeping them from Varsity?

that's not true, the norton 130lbs. Jon Harding was JV last year, is now state ranked, he was behind 2 time state champion James Annon, and the whole Norton JV team wins varsity tournaments, so not all JV's suck

Absolutley correct Bronco, I remember when Mike Fox was JV for Wichita South for three years and he could have been a varsity for any other school in the city each of those three years, south was just really stacked and even won city each of the four years he was there I think 94 through 97 was the years. I know there has been many instances like that. You have to be silly to think all jv sucks.

SillyBIlly,
That was a Imature statement to say the least
first of all there have been a numerous range of wrestlers that have accomplished stuff state wide and natioally i'll list a few
Jesse Hardy- HS state placer, Kids state champion, and national champion.

Donny Altman- 2 time Fargo national champion, 4 time fargo placer, multiple state champion.

Pretty much all of the Mannhattan JV ( I say this because I heard a story last year that there c team went to a varsity tournament and still beat everyone. ) There are many more but Ive already made my point.

Now there all on varsity. Some of them didnt weigh enough, that's how I was last year (weighed 90 and wrestled 103)

and second without Junior Varsity there would be no varsity. The Junior Varsity pushes the Varsity to go harder.

I myself was JV my freshman year behind 103lbs Qualifier David William, then the next year I myself was a state qualifier at 103lbs. and was state ranked at one point, so with hard work and determination you can accomplish anything you want, as evident by some of the people mentioned in this topic

Bronco Wrestler you were part right. Jon Harding who last year was jv at 125 behind state qualifier curtis black went down to 119 for the durham invite. Jon went on to lose by one point to the eventual state champion in the finals of the durham.

It's all in your mind. Yes or No, either way you decide what can be accomplished

we had 3 hwts fighing for varstity in the 90's who were danf good. One year lucas deines took first. the next his bro joshua took 2nd the followin shawn shubert took 1st. so sumtimes there are just better kids at better weight classes. last year i had to wrestle hwt. because our 215 wrestler beat me 3-2 in the wrestle off. he then wet on to take 3rd at state.

I would like to reply to the individual who started this post. Everyone knows the role JV kids play and those that do not simply have no idea what it means to be a wrestler. I commend those who battle everyday with the V kids, not only making themselves a better wrestler but also strengthening the team! My hats off to them..

If they all suck that means you are not very good, being able to beat another wrestler that "sucks", is an easy task.

Green from Scott City was a State Placer last year at 4A HWT. and is J.V. this year behind Miller who is a favorite to win it all this year. Some people have argued that the second best 4A HWT in Kansas is Green.

Who's got the best JV in Kansas? I've always thought Manhattan's JV could give our Varsity a run for their money, but that's just me. Who are the dominating JV teams?

Quite a few of our jv are only being held back by a few points in wrestle off's. i used to be JV so i know what that's all about.

SillyBilly,

what you have said is the most rediculous horse crap I've heard in a while. As an example my junior year when we won state we had a three deep lineup under almost every weight class, we sent our #1 J.V wrestlers to varsity tournaments and they placed 1st and 2nd at those tournaments. Why you may ask? Well 9 out of 14 varsity starters on our team were State placers. As another example a friend of mine Marcus Rothchild wrestled J.V under me, the year after I graduated he placed 2nd at the State tournament. It would be wise of you to consider your statements before you make such foolish ones.
