I see where Vogelsburg is wrestling at 160 at Silverlake, whats up with that. Don't count out Jake Weishaar at 171. He pinned Derek Faught and Derek beat Lattimer 2 times. Whats that about.

don't get too excited about weishaars one win he is good but he lost to smith of royal valley. He is a strong kid who if he catches you will be tough. He wrestles just like his brother. He is a great counter wrestler but doesn't initiate a lot.

I decided to try my luck at the 4A rankings and predictions. The more I looked at them I think Kit has done an excellent job of ranking kids. I think the 4A rankings are probably better than the ones for the other classes. *-denotes same as ranked (entire weight or wrestler)
103* Kriebaum Abilene-Devoee Colunbus 112* Denault Con Mainus-Colby Bahe-Good 119 *Charbonneu CC Bowman-Columbus Cagle-FT Scott 125 Betsworth-SFT Close-CC Jones Coffey Lira-Ulys 130* McReynolds-Columbu Grater-CC Luedke-Colb Bahe 135* Allison-Ft Sc Pruser-CC Kriesch-Chapm 140 *Johnson-Nort *MCBurney-SFT Arveson-Chapm 145 Stirling-SH Dukes-BL Rush-CC Metcalf-Ft Sc Stirling looking better and better 152* I think a very weak weight I will go with the rankings 160 with Vogelsburg dropping down I still have to go with the #4 ranked kid for #1 my picks 1-Baylor-Columbus Vogelsburg-Mary Hausserman-Nort 4-Medill Lansing 5 Pratt-SH 171 Lattimer-Ft Sc 189* Strait Con Browning-Osaw Thompkins-Good If Abell SH is back he is an easy #3 pick if healthy my #1 215 *Greer-El D poor weight from there on Bedore-Good Lajoie-Con 275 Not knowing English I will go with kit and take English-Aug Hinton-Bald the rest are too inconsisatant to rate.

About that, if I were wrestling Weishaar I would take it slow. Usually I like people to be very aggressive but in weishaars case I would make him do some of the work instead of just sitting back and waiting to cash in on a mistake.

I think Justin Stirling has a good chance at taking state this year. he is wrestling at 135 right now. he gets better with every match he wrestles so watch out.

SO YOU ARE SAYING THAT THE ONLY WAY WEISHAAR WINS IS FROM OTHER MISTAKES. I BELIEVE HE DESERVES SOME CREDIT. BAD WRESTLERS WIN AND LOSE BECAUSE OF MISTAKES. GOOD WRESTLERS WIN BECAUSE THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. SO IF YOU ARE TELLING ME THAT THE ONLY WAY WEISHAAR CAN WIN IS IF SOMEONE MESSES UP I AM SORRY TO HEAR THAT. HE WORKS VERY HARD AND YOU ARE TAKING ALL THE HARD WORK AND THROWING IT OUT THE DOOR. AND WHAT ONE WIN ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? HE HAS WRESTLED MORE THAN ONE MATCH THAT HAS HAD GOOD COMPETION.

fanatic, where have you seen weishaar wrestle? Because I am just making sure you are talking about the right kid. And I want to make sure I got this right, are you saying that if a kid just "slowed down the match" he would be able to stop his wrestling style? We'll see at the coliseum.

GRIZZLY48, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE 171 WEIGHT CLASS? IN CLASS 4A. I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A LOT GOOD WRESTLERS IN 171. AND HOW ABOUT THAT PERSON PUTTING DOWN THE STYLE OF WEISHAAR. I BELIEVE IT IS BECAUSE PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO SEE TALENT COME OUT OF ATCHISON. IF HE CAME FROM EFFINGHAM HE WOULD BE A GOD. BECAUSE HE BEAT AND PINNED THERE GOD AT 171 IF I REMEMBER, RIGHT? WELL LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK BECAUSE THAT OTHER PERSON JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND.WELL SEE.

I have seen both Weishaar and Vogelsburg wrestle. I am very impressed with both wrestlers. I was really impressed with Weishaar. Yes, the kid did wait for his opponents to make a mistake, but when they did, he put it on them before they knew what was coming. He was thoroughly impressive and only got better as the match went. Vogelsburg wrestles very sound, not flashy, just strong and very good with the basics. He too waits for the opponent to make a mistake and then capitalizes. You can bet that if these two are wrestling in Wichita, I will try my best to peak over and watch.

Glad to see someone giving credit on here and not constantly bringing others down. People get on here and talk crap on the wrestling styles of others, but what it comes down to is who wins, not how. You people don't even put down your names or email addresses. Did you wrestle and were you any good Fanatic, you predicted lattimer to win 171, right? That is a good pick, lattimer is a tough wrestler like his older brother. But his older brother was fat! But do you know who he has lost to; well got pinned by? And who weishaar has pinned,, if someone is beating a returning state champion 9-5 and pins him I would have to say he was a contender. But hopefully see you in wichita, wear your "fanatic" name tag.

Truthfully I doubt if fanatic will be down at wichita because I think I know who it is and he will be out at Hays. I agree with your thought about it doesnt matter how you do it as long as you get the W. I went to a clinc that Akins put on and some one asked if he was a defensive or offensive wrestler and he said he keeps his butt to the middle which is controlling the match. however he doesnt take many shots and is more of a counter wrestler on his feet.

I think Sttrling would be well of staying at 135 because Dukes just cam back from Garden City with the championship metal pinning a oklahoma state runner up in 19 seconds and walking away with the ed cramer outstanding wrestler award. I feel Dukes will be at the top of the award stands

HEY FANATIC, PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY AGREEING WITH WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT WEISHAAR THATS IMPRESSIVE. BUT THEY SAY IT IS A GOOD THING. WHERE AS YOU PUT IT DOWN. AND ABOUT THE STATEMENT WHERE YOU SAID IF I WAS WRESTLING WEISHAAR. WELL YOUR NOT AND IF YOU WERE WELL MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR SUN GLASSES BECAUSE THE LIGHTS ARE ALWAYS BRIGHTER WHEN YOU ARE STARING RIGHT INTO THEM. GO GRIZZLY ON YOUR COMMENTS. FANATIC ONLY KNOWS ABOUT COACHES. NOT ABOUT 171 SO WHY DO WE EVEN BOTHER TALKING TO A PERSON WHO IS AFRAID OF THE TRUTH.

Justin Stirling (junior) is the younger brother of Josh Stirling (senior). Both are having excellent years. Josh is wrestling 145 pounds this year. His younger brother Justin dropped to 135 lbs from 140 lbs. I bet Josh will beat Dukes this year if he can keep from getting tossed in a pinning combo. Justin has lost 3 times this year, with two of those losses dealt by Nolan Cisper. Both boys will try to take home medals this year for the Spring Hill Broncos. Just trying to clear things up for Fan4life.

Well i was also at the basehor SFT duel infact i wrestled in it. Yes dukes and buck did have a good tournament but dukes pinned everyone that stepped in his way, including a 19 second pin in the finals. So he couldn't of been that tired. The freshman were well prepared and trained hard to compete with dukes and buck. The weights that basheor were open at was 125 which we have cody betsworth, 103 which we have a tough freshmen who is having a good year with a winning record, and 135 where we have max connelly who has been wrestling well this year. I would watch out for santa fe trail at state we are likley to surprise some people...

Before anyone gets off saying that Dukes was almost beat by a freshman you need to know that Dukes has 2 torn muscles in his chest that is causes him to be short of breath and minimizes his arm reach. How do I know I wrestled him in garden City. I am not making excuses because I know that the kid from SFT is good for a freshman and can only get better, but thats my in put on the whole thing.
As for Dukes and Stirling I feel Dukes has the upper hand all the way and will be well prepared
