I'm still looking for scores/brackets from the McPherson, Miege, and Ark City 5A Regionals. I can tell by looking at the state brackets who made it, but I would also like to see scores, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks Shawnee Heights for your prompt posting of results!

Oh well it was kinda funny seeing him watch through the glass doors when his kid was wrestling. Glad he had family in Hoisington he could go see while waiting for his kid's matches. The man in question has a very loud carrying voice that echoes above all others and I am guessing thats what set it off.

The officials last name is Bierra but his first name escapes me. He is also a State Trooper.

and1 Shawnee Heights, please expand on how stacked 140 was. There were only 6 in the bracket and Brooks wrestling on one arm?
Sounds like Brooks is a stud. That said why couldn't Flynn just pin him?

Wrestlingfan65: Sounds like we are talking about different incedents. The hat throw was at the NWKL last year. I have no axe to grind with Oberlin. I really like everyone I know there.

Let me get this straight all the guy said was awwww come on ...... where's the backpoints and thats what got him thrown out. On top of that you think its funny because a man had to watch his kid from outside the glass doors. Coming from another ref i'm very disapointed in that statement. I wasn't there and don't know anybody your speaking of and i'm sure some of the loud parents that are just into a sport are annoying but your a poor poor ref with thin skin to throw someone out for that. I beleive their has to be more to it than that or this post alone needs to be reviewed by the KSHSAA. Isn't support for this sport hard enough already?

I wasn't there so I didn't see it but what is the call for draggin a guy just inside the circle and what ref would watch one wrestler drag another clear to the middle? I was lost when he said the guy was on bottom and pulled the other to the middle.

I wouldn't think that someone just saying "awwww come on ...... where's the backpoints" would be grounds for dismissal from a tournament (at least I woudln't throw someone out for yelling that form the stands). Perhaps there is more to this story than what has been posted. The only thing I can think is that the guy must have een shouting things all day long at this one official and the last comment is what broke the camel's back.

The match at Heavyweight or 275 in Rossville that was called for illegal hold went like this in my opinion
Wrestler from Oskalosa (spelling I am sorry about) was holding onto the feet from the burligame wrestler and the ref wouldn't award points for takedown so the kid From OHS pulled the BHS wrestler back onto the mat about 5 or 6 feet and then covered him. It most have been a hard cover because the official called it illegal. Now before he bounced on him the ref called 2 takedown and the wrestler did what most of us would have done. I felt the Burligame wrestler was trying to flee the mat to begin with and it was the elimation match to see who went to state. I saw alot of slams on the weekend that were not called so I was surprised at this. The Burligame wrestler did not wrestler for third and forth and I hope he is truely alright.
My heart go out to the OHS kid because he worked hard to get there and for this call to be made had to be tough. He didn't complain- even if I would have forgiven him because I was upset at the time. I felt he got a bad call against him which cost him his dream
Good Luck to all at Hays and everywhere else

Mike Church, Alex Ryan can laugh at the guy standing outside looking at his kid wrestle because he is laughing at his own dad, not anyone elses, dad. Alex dad does yell loud and alot but never anything more than is expected and i was sitting 20 feet from him the whole day and he never said anything really out of line and thats all he said when he was ejected. Thats why i started this post about this ref because i really think he looks up into the stands a little to much. i wasnt just picking on a ref i didnt like because he has never done anything to a wrestler from my team, i was just making a point that i think his skin is to thin for regional wrestling

I wouldn't have laughed it if it was anyone else's father, but it's was my Dad. We still laugh about it to this day. We have many family members in this area that he went and visited and would come and watch me wrestle through the glass. I do feel bad for him, and all he really said was "Where's the backpoints". It's just that he speaks a little louder than most other people and his voice carries so Mr. Bierra could hear him over anyone else. If my dad would have said anymore than that I would admit it but I do not feel that he said anything wrong, as both a wrestler and official. I know I've heard many worse things this year as a kids official.
I will see if I can find the paper Mr. Bierra had to file with KSHSAA. My dad is even friends with the Hoisington coach and even he had said that my dad did nothing out of the ordinary.
I hope this explains it to you why I said what I did. It's more of an inside joke anymore with my dad. Also, the president of USD 407 was sitting right beside my dad and even he stated that he did nothing out of the ordinary.
Alex

That's fine, I understand how it could sound bad. It was pretty funny just because my Dad's one of those guys who's usually pretty vocal but within the limits, and this time he didn't get away with it. I can still see him getting shown to the door, it was quite a site.

I want to see a Dad get thrown out of State. He would have to be yelling pretty loud, wouldn't he? Dad's thrown out of Regionals...big deal. But you have something if you get tossed out of State.

Ive heard people yell some pretty crazy things a state and never even been confronted, but of course at hays your so far away from the mat it would be hard to tell who yelled it. But ya, that would be pretty funny to watch a dad get thrown out of state, just hope its not mine. haha.
