Both are currently undefeated and both came from NM and both were state champs last year and both are freshman and they both wrestle for Goodard now - is all that correct?

Are they related to each other or what - i'm just curious how Goodard gets two studs at the same time from the same place.

What were their records last year?

I'm not fishing for same drama. Just like to know a little history. It makes watching the finals more enjoyable.

Good luck to all this weekend. Stay healthy and be good sports!

I don't know these individuals, but am rather impressed by what they have accomplished. I have tried finding out about their success in New Mexico. In checking the New Mexico Activities Association website http://www.nmact.org/ I looked through the wrestling results for 04-05 and I didn't find their names listed as champions, or listed in any results. I was able to find the Adamson's listed under the 5A results. I am not trying to take anything away from these guys or start any kind of argument, but I am wondering where the results are that show they were state champions last year.

Both of the boys grew up in wichita wrestling for Valley Center, and the Brawlers kids programs. For personal reasons they moved to NM for a year. They both may have been kids, or middle school state champs in NM, that is unknown. I do know neither of them were high school state champions last year. That is not saying they could not have accomplished that feat. They are both very impressive wrestlers.

The reason I checked the High School results was because I was told that New Mexico allowed 8th graders to wrestle in the high school state tournament. There are other results on that website that show there has been a 5-time champ in NM.

Weren't they to enter 9th grade when they moved, but then went to NM and had to repeat the 8th grade due to an New Mexico rule that if you transfer in directly after your 8th grade year you have to repeat that grade?

I think we as a forum have beat that drum to death and it's time to move on! Lets just be happy we have two great wrestlers coming through Kansas that will represent us at the national level in a positive manner! Good luck to both of them as they are outstanding young athletes and men!

And based on the spelling of your post, it sounds like you should have been redshirted too. Maybe another year of grade school would have taught you how to spell "pretty" correctly.

Maybe you're not an ugly human, but a good looking ape.....with exceptional verbal skills.

Who would have a problem with Goddard adding a few ringers from NM to help them win a title? Certainly not anyone from a Catholic school or anyone from a big town with only one high school. Who would have a problem with high school coaches recruiting 8th graders? It's all good. I see no problem with that. But I do have a problem with "swish" being used on a wrestling forum. Now that is a disgrace.

Firstly, theres no need to yell rlvinson. Secondly, we use swish on here to indicate a very impressive insult that is worth mention. Not in reference to that other sport.

It really doesnt matter how old they are, but yes if they would have stayed in witchita they would have had to take their 8th grade year over. Well that is the story on Beard not 100% sure about caldwell. And it really doesnt matter if they should be sophomores because there is pleanty of 16 year old freshman in the state that got held back in previous years.

well it doesnt really matter if hes supposed to be a sophomore or a freshman. either way beard dominated his weight class, as did caldwell. they are both studs.
