I was just thinking the same thing right before I read your post. I am concerned and saddened as well. He is a great kid and opponent to my son. To Dylan, mom, dad, grandma, and grandpa: hope you all are feeling better, and hope to see you soon at kids tournaments.
Brandons mom.

I talked to Dad earlier today and Dylan is getting around SLOWLY and still in quite some pain. He is going to KC today to get checked out by a specialist.

Kit Harris, Baldwin City Seeing Kit's name up here reminds me that we should also wish a speedy recovery to young Alan Callahan as well at 103. That podium had some banged up warriors on it and as a wrestling fan I was proud to see them all make it to the medals stand.

Alan is in a cast for six weeks. He will be alright, sometimes these things happen in sports. He had a great season and I am real proud of him, he is one tough little midget and a lot of fun to coach! He will be back.
Thanks for asking!

I'm not sure if Mom or Dad will be on here so I'll tell you what I know as a "proud Uncle". Dylan seems to have a similar injury to what Chaz had at the beginning of last season, and if so, its painful but primarily muscular. They came to KC yesterday and my wife took them to see the same therapist that helped get Chaz back in action. I understand she was able to relieve some of the pain so hopefully he's feeling better today. I wasn't able to get to Salina but it sounds like those 103s were a bunch of little animals. And they're all young too! Congratulations to all of them and a speedy recovery to those that need it.
Dylan,
Congratulations but don't think just because you have a state medal, you're going to be able to handle me on Grandma's living room floor next Christmas! Even with your sidekick, Ethan.

In all the confusion the Mumaw family did not get a picture of Dylan on the podium. If anyone could get a copy to them it would be great. Even a digital picture emailed would be something. If you have one please send it to:

Thanks

How was Callahan injured? I was looking forward to wrestling/watching him wrestle at kid's state.

About 20 seconds into the Semi finals match with Dylan, he tried an arm drag and his foot got caught I think and he broke his Fibula just above the ankle. He did finish the match however, but lost 10-0. Almost pulled an amazing throw with a broken leg to pin him, but dylan rolled through for the take down.

From what I saw from my angle..it's been a few days......early in the match, probably 30 seconds or so in when the adrenelin is still really pumping, Cox shot in and was finishing with a turk trip. Mumaw turned to base down and Cox lifted and stepped through for the turk. It looked like Mumaw had a shoulder or post stick on the mat, and Cox continued to step through.....it looked like Mumaw almost had hit butt touch his shoulders...it happened real quick, and the officials immediately (within a second or so) stopped the match. I had huge respect for the kid for standing up on the podium, but after watching him make an attempt to walk off of the mat, you could tell that he was unable to move his legs well...not sure how smart it was to put him on the podium, but I'm sure that he wanted to be there. I hope that things are going well.
