Ok, some of you know I get tons of calls and emails from coaches from all over the United States on the college level about the wrestling here in Kansas. I don't want to leave anybody out, but can you all give me some names and stats of guys that are interested in wrestling at the college level that haven't signed anywhere.

I've been swamped with emails and calls, but didn't get to see everyone with the split State Championships. If you know of a career record and a stats on a wrestler and GPA/ACT, please contact me via email at ucosweazy@yahoo.com or by private message.

Let's all help to RECRUIT KANSAS!

Don't take this the wrong way, but why would coaches be getting in touch with you? If a coach is really interested in a kid, it seems like they would find a way to get in touch with them. Some parents will want to be selective of who they have promoting their kids.

Big ol boys just aren't all that fast, and Yellow and Black is where it is at.

Swayz promotes Kansas kids wrestling in college the best he can. So colleges contact him and ask him who there is to recruit in Kansas at specific weights. Now he's asking people to help him out by giving him names and stats so he can give them to colleges so the colleges can contact that kid.

Swayz has many contacts from wrestling in College, where at tournaments he met numerous coaches and from national forums where there are many contacts. In just my short stint so far past high school I have met many people that are coaches and assistants.

I understand where you are coming from, but at the same time a lot of these coaches, parents, and even athletes have come to know me off the internet and in person and know I will do everything in my powers to land a kid at a school. Let's face it a lot of these coaches might just know of programs but not really do the research for a kid. I try to find out what the kid hopes to do in college and find the right fit for them academically as well as personably.

If a kids is from small town America and had a 67% winning record, I'm probably not going to contact the inner city, D1 wrestling program, but instead may look at the DIII rural Iowa program for example. It's more than just saying here's a school that wrestles, now apply, it's about finding that fit and helping people move on to a place they will call home without having to resettle a lot.

If I were a big time college coach I'd recruit Chris Sutton-Kearn. He's probably under the radar screen of many coaches but one of those kids that might be able to jump to the top level in a couple of years. I hope he goes to a Big 12 school.

Trust me Sutton-Kearn is a name that I'm giving to coaches that are looking for a bigger guy.

One of the best ways that a kid can make a name for himself is to do well at the national tournaments. If a kid is a senior and under the radar, HS Nationals is a great way to be seen. I would love to see a list of those that are going as soon as it is finalized.

Agreeed. Also has anybody officially petitioned for being added to Nationals?

Well if he'll only go there, he's an easy sell to Newman. Has he talked with the coaches at Newman yet?
