What is his name and record? Jess Lemon is coming to Salina undefeated. Junior High and kids but hasn't really seen that much action in kids since most of the kids are in high school and/or doing junior high right now.

How close was your match with Ochoa? Looking forward to a good rematch in Salina.

It was 5 to 2 I think. Jess told me that Ochoa is very good at countering and he did struggle with him a little bit due to not having seen him wrestle before. Ochoa made it a very exciting match as he was able to put Jess on his back in the last second of the third period but the towel came out. I would be lying if I said that Jess was not that concerned about meeting him again but so far, his toughest (and closest) match was with Ryan Wuthnow at the Jr. High League. Ryan W. is a very tough wrestler!

Okay. the Salina tournament is over and I would like to add, there was some very good wrestling going on on Mat 14! What a show. Not only in 130lbs but in the other weight classes as well. My next question is how many of the wrestlers were from out of state and how did they do. I know that in 130lbs, the first and third place finishers were both from out of state.

The guy who won in this division was a kid from Oklahoma. He was Oklahoma's national champion and his uncle is the head coach at LSU. I can not remember his name. He was very nice after the match but he is something fierce on the mat. An excellent wrestlers. Jess Lemon took second. Another kid from Missouri placed third. Again, I can't remember his name. Ryan Wuthnow placed fourth.

Sometimes, not seeing a kid before can help you. If you haven't wrestled each other before, you don't know what to expect. Now that they have seen each other, it may be a different match when they met up again. Jess may not be so lucky. He knows it so he continues to work hard because just because you beat one person one time does not mean you can the next time.

I agree. There are still many very talented freshman who have not wrestled in the kids division yet. It will be interesting to see who comes down. I do think that Jess has a good shot at placing if he continues to wrestle like he has.
