Just wnated to get some input, I heard that Augusta won it's 3rd consecutive AVCTL Title last night by beating El Dorado 64-7 or
so. Based on follow up, AHS had 3 ranked kids and didn't lose a dual all season. Congratulations on that feat Coach Brandon Terry, first year AHS Coach, and your wrestling team.
Ark Valley -- As expected, the AV-CTL Division II title will be decided after tonight's match between McPherson and Valley Center.
McPherson coach Richard Settle knows how successful Valley Center has been and how its program has become a powerhouse. It will be a challenge for him.
"We got a shot, but I think they're a little stronger than we are," Settle said. "They're just tough all the way through."
To beat Valley Center, Settle said the team needs to win as many of the light and middle weight classes as possible. That's where he feels his team is most equal with the Hornets. Bart Hageman at 112 has to go up against the No. 2 ranked wrestler in the state. Settle said his wrestlers have reason to be confident.
"We have beaten them several places in tournaments," he said.
