There have been some rumors that some Wichita teams are boycotting the Park City/Wichita Wrestling Classic and it's going to be cancelled. This is not true. We have received numerous entries and they are coming in daily. We have contracted with 8 different local clubs to help work the tournament and bring mats. These clubs are Wichita Wrestling Club, Ark City Takedown Club, Mac Wrestling Club, Goddard Wrestling Club, Brawlers Wrestling Club, El Dorado Wrestling Club and Greater Gold Wrestling Club.

If you need information on the tournament, go to http://www.wichitasports.com.

Every Wichita club has a President listed on this web site. Why dont you call and ask if they are coming to the biggest single day tournament in Kansas?

I kinda wish Salina did have a parade of Champions before the finals.

Do you still need table workers? Team Haysville would like to help again.

I don't know if the rumors are true or not but the tournament in Hays,KS had bigger numbers than than the Wichita Classic last year. I would promote the idea of everyone trying out the Western Kansas CLASSIC. It is held in Gross Memorial Coliseum, the best venue outside of the state tournament. It should become the premier kids open tournament in Kansas. Soon kids from CO, NE, MO, and IA will be attending. You have to go outside to smell any manure in Hays \:\) Ft. Hays has a strong Div II program and I think we should all support Ft. Hays and the Hays community by wrestling in this tournament.

Agreed. With Wichita's population and the large number of wrestling clubs in the area, it is too bad Wichita can't utilize a better venue like Kock Arena at Wichita State or even one of the local smaller colleges(Friends/Newman).

Can I get an amen?! That many people in such a small venue is, shall we say, unfortunate. Also, hopefully there will be sufficient restroom facilities (in number and appropriately maintained) for the masses.
