Does anyone fundraise in the summer? If so what types of activities do you do?

Here are a couple of easy ideas. During the off-season our sons team has rented out the nearby community center and held a dance for the elementary kids. They just use signs set up around the community for advertising and put flyers up in nearby stores. We usually raise about $1500 that is split between the families involved. Also, I saw a wrestling team doing a carwash (for donations) last weekend that seemed to be drawing a lot of customers.

This summer, I have a brochure for Nate, donations from individuals and businesses. I will likely do a magic show, for those that don't know I do magic, including some fairly impressive stage magic, levitations and so forth. For clubs and so forth, I will work with them on pricing for a show if they wanted to do something like this and see to it that they make money instead of loosing money. We have also spoken about other things and have looked at a number of web sites that specialize on fundraising. Even selling the Krispy Cream Donuts.

I like the car wash idea. Any wrestlers in the Wichita area that would be interested in doing something like this for the Wichita Kids/Cadet's/Juniors let me know, I'll work on getting a location and spot for it and we can split up all of the money of those working the car wash.

If you can get 5 or 6 families together, running a fireworks stand is a real profit maker. I have done this with a group in another sport and we raised $4,500.

We have did a fried taco fundraiser, carwashes, setting up a booth at a local event and even went business to business asking for donations.

But no matter what you do, plan on the same people helping out each time. I have learned over the years that the ones that help the first time will be the ones that help the second, third and fourth fundraiser.

some ideas would be car washes...we sell bierocks for our cheerleading fundraisers adn usually make around 5000 bierocks each time we make them and we sell them for $16 a dozen, our band sells trash bags twice a year and we make a pretty good profit off of those, nothing else get a hold of your local fair board and see if you can do a concessions sometime during ur county fair

Poker Runs bring in Money. Set up a 100 mile radius and 5 Bars for Bikers to stop at...each bar they draw a card from deck and it's written down. When they get all 5 done, they turn in sheets and the winning hand is determined. Also the worst hand is figured out and gets a prize. Charge $70 for a bike or so and watch the money flow in if advertised well.

I do a fundraiser in the summer and it is great! We sell cookie dough for my football team and make around $5000 per summer. We sell cookie dough from the Little O'House of Cookie Dough in Little River, KS. The gal down there is great to work with.

You never had a Kansas staple, came originally from the German Mennonites, actually very good.
