I am looking for Novice 65lbs wrestlers to have my son compete against. If you have a wrestler attending a freestyle/greco tourney and want someone in your weight class please let me know and we will attend the tourney you are signed up for.

Mr. Roberts,
I will be in Council Bluffs, Iowa on the 28th of this month with my son at a FR/GR tourney. He weighs 62-63 and is in the Novice division. We will also try to make the Manhattan tourney as well on May 12th.

We will be at the Manhattan Tourney for sure then. Please e mail me if you aren't attending.
I will look at scheduling to see if we can attend the Council Bluffs tourney.
Thanks for responding.
Jeff

How does the Novice work in freestyle? Age, grade, etc. I have a boy who is 3rd grade, 1st year freestyle, 3rd year wrestler.

In Freestyle and Greco "Novice" defines an age group not a skill level!
Years ago, I remember seeing "Toast" Knox ... wrestling Novice! I thought it was a skill grouped and wondered! Since I've learned!

We will not be at the Council Bluffs tourney unless we are expecting bad weather and soccer is cancelled.
We attended the Tourney at Blue Springs yesterday as we were expecting snow and soccer was cancelled.
Our soccer season ends the first weekend in May, after that we are wrestling every weekend we can until the July Kids Nationals.
If anyone has a tourney that they intend to attend with at 60-65 Novice (95-96 birth) please let us know and we will attend the tourney also.

The lightest kid we had this weekend at the UFC was 63lbs and he was in a group of 3 other wrestlers, none of them weighed more than 72. I would guess there will be as many or more kids around the same weight at Oak Park this weekend.
