Actually Glen had Madl in the splits and managed to work his way on top of Glen... Glen never let go of the splits... In order for the defensive wrestler to receive a reversal there must be a clear change of control and if u was watching this match u must agree the Newbill never let go of the splits therefore Madl was never awarded a reversal... In order to receive nearfall point u must be in control and the reason for the controversy was the fact that the ref did began waving his hand as if he was counting nearfall points... I coach high school matches all season and have noticed this happen several times and points are never awarded prior to a gain or change of control... The guy who refed the match was a good high school ref not one of them !the ref and the Classic ref were TERRIBLE... One of my asst coaches was about to get upset over the same thing but I warned his that a reversal was never given... The best call for that situation was stalemate.
