Did anyone notice that the 16-man brackets were different than normal 16 man brackets when it came to the back side?

They did not cross bracket the quarter final losers. They were made aware after the fact, apologized to those who did notice and went on the best that they could. No Big Deal.

Thanks-as long as someone else noticed and they were made aware of the problem but to say it's not a big deal is wrong. It may have totally changed the outcome of the bracket on the backside.

At most if effected the kid who might have taken 4th. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd were not effected, no harm no foul.

Well, I know it effected my son. He ended up wrestling the boy that he lost to in his first match. That would not have ended up like that unless they were going for 3rd or 4th.

As someone has already said. Jeremy has corrected that and we wont have that same problem down the road.

It does make a differesce especially in the eyes of a 8 yr old who would of gone home with a 3rd place medal instead of going home because of a mistake made by "a new parent" (as Jeremy put it to us at the head table). Not only that, but being so close to state these kids need as much mat time as they can get instead of being denied this due to adult error. With all the expereience in that club did no one check once, twice or maybe three times to make sure the backets were correct especially with a "new parent" involved. This should of been caught and corrected prior to tournament time. Everyone makes mistakes its natural, but this one should have been corrected.

They must have gotten the brackets from somo one at the Wichita Classis. Their brackets have been that way for years. Then someone brings it to their attention and they fix it every year. As long as they fix it like Wichita does no big deal.

Your wrestler would not have gone home with 3rd. He still would have gotten beat twice, meaning 4th is the best he could of done. I can not believe all the crying that is going on over this. Depending on where the first kid that beat you loss, you still might have wrestled him before the consolation finals. As long as there was a cross bracket somewhere it should not matter. Pick your battles is this really something to complain about. One cross backet mistake at one tournament. There are definately more important things to get upset about.

Beeson is correct. The only time it matters is if you are the 4th place kid. The 3rd place kids beats everybody but the finalists anyway, but if there is a tough kid coming from the front side and your kid is trying to slide in for 4th that is the only time it matters. The kid in this case would lose to him if correctly bracketed in the 3/4 match vs. the bubble match.

Thank you for explaining it that way instead of trying to make it "no big deal". To a new wrestler 4th would have been better than nothing. But to all a lesson learned to double check all brackets in the future regardless of how experienced a club may be. Atleast there was an apology to the persons who brought this to the attention of Winfield.
