Glad you're alright there Puddin! I thought maybe you were still running ... from either the truancy officer or the neighborhood dog!
Are you making a POSITIVE difference in the life of kids?

Cutting weight sucks and is generally speaking not good for your health (unless you are a 'butterball'). So, why'd you decide to drop all the sudden? If you are currently at 38 and 35 is the class - you only have three more to go. That is good. When are weigh-ins? I follow HS, not kids wrestling. Nothing personal and good luck to you.

My son eats fruit for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and a very light early dinner. Drinks nothing but water. Not eating slows down your metabolism and will stop your weight loss. My son can lose as much as 8 pounds in a couple days, but works out every night sweating alot. Good luck B.T. you can do it. Just do it right.

Just heard on the Biggest Loser that you need to get atleast 8 hours of sleep at night when trying to lose weight, if not your metabolism slows down and your body will store the weight.

For High school i lost 7 lbs. the day before a meet. But my coaches told me to eat every small meal and a granola bar at 10:30am and 3:00pm to keep your bodys metabolism going. but consider not eating or drinking anything the day before you could easily loose 3 or 4 lbs. Plus your 1.5 you would probably loose in your sleep. 5 lbs. is easily achievable. good luck

I usually get in my car leave the windows rolled up, turn the heat up to full blast while jamming out to "That Smell" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. But, before that I make sure my boys roll me up in some industrial sized seren wrap to keep a good sweat going.

i would not say easier brackets, ,more like i will have a weight advantage after weigh ins are over i know from when i was in boxing, could loose weight to get down , but after weigh ins i could put 10 to fifteen pounds back on before the match. now i gain weight just looking at food. but wish you the best of luck at subs.

If you try to drop too much weight too soon you will be too weak to compete at your best. It is better to wrestle closer to your natural weight so you can have more energy to compete.

Losing weight does stink, and it is a necessary evil of wrestling. If you are not mature enough too pull the weight without making a spectacle of yourself...then don't. My suggestion, pull the weight without making a fuss. Wrestling gets a bad enough rap without kids going around saying "poor me I'm pulling weight." By the way pulling 5 pounds is not cutting weight.
