Hey I called the USA national number today in reference to the criteria for the new background checks so that I could make sure and know what all of the coaches are up against. (FYI I am totally all for screening for sex offenders, violent criminals, etc) I don't agree that they can check a record for any other violation for 25+ years however. Anyway the guidlines that they will be using have not been set in stone and they have recieved ample phone calls with questions so they are in the process of deciding what criteria to use. I was told that anyone with comments or questions on the criteria listed should call in to (719)598-8181 and ask for Mark Scott. The more people call in with questions the more they will look at our issues that were posted in the previous postings!
