what happend at 112? Heincker being removed and harper being pushed down? Caleb Seaton deserved the nod over Harper. His victories over Tre Humphrey last year along with Humprey's win over Harper at State carried some of the weight. Heincker lost to Dremel at the Fall Brawl. I'm sure he'll be back in there before too long.

With nothing better to do last night, I decided to use the Chief's overall rankings and see how the various classes stack up in placing wrestlers in the chief's top ten. I should note that 135 lbs only had 9 ranked wrestlers and 215 lbs & 285 lbs had only 8 ranked wrestlers. Here is what I came up with:
Class 6 A:

I should note that 135 lbs only had 9 ranked wrestlers and 215 lbs & 285 lbs had only 8 ranked wrestlers. Here is what I came up with:
Class 6 A: 37 ranked wrestlers Class 5 A: 39 ranked wrestlers Class 4 A: 42 ranked wrestlers Class 331: 17 ranked wrestlers
Class 6 A had 8 wrestlers ranked # 1 class 5 A had 2 wrestlers ranked # 1 Class 4 A had 4 wrestlers ranked # 1
Class 6 A had 3 wrestlers ranked # 2 Class 5 A had 7 wrestlers ranked # 2 Class 4 A had 2 wrestlers ranked # 2 Class 321 had 2 wrestlers ranked # 2
Class 6 A had 5 wrestlers ranked # 3 Class 5 A had 4 wrestlers ranked # 3 Class 4 A had 3 wrestlers ranked # 3 Class 321 had 2 wrestlers ranked # 3
class 6 A had 3 wrestlers ranked # 4 Class 5 A had 4 wrestlers ranked # 4 Class 4 A had 5 wrestlers ranked # 4 class 321 had 2 wrestlers ranked # 4
class 6 A had 4 wrestlers ranked # 5 Class 5 A had 4 wrestlers ranked # 5 Class 4 A had 4 wrestlers ranked # 5 Class 321 had 2 wrestlers ranked # 5
Class 6 A had 1 wrestlers ranked # 6 class 5 A had 4 wrestlers ranked # 6 Class 4 A had 6 wrestlers ranked # 6 Class 321 had 3 wrestlers ranked # 6
I recall a discussion this past season wherein a 4 A coach claimed that class 4 A was the deepest in talent. He certainly has support for this claim given these results.
I certainly recognize that these comments and statistics mean little, if anything, at this stage of the game. It struck me that there was surprising parity among the various classes of wrestlers.
Good luck to all during the approaching season.

Nice job 69! I had done a similar analysis after I posted the original version. 6A is top heavy with the top 3 teams in the state, in my opinion. 4A still carries the depth.

I decided to follow on through with the 7th ranked wrestlers through the 10th:
Class 6 A had 2 # 7 ranked wrestlers Class 5 A had 5 # 7 ranked wrestlers Class 4 A had 4 # 7 ranked wrestlers Class 321 had 3 # 7 ranked wrestlers
Class 6 A had 2 # 8 ranked wrestlers Class 5 A had 4 # 8 ranked wrestlers Class 4 A had 7 # 8 ranked wrestlers Class 321 had 1 # 8 ranked wrestlers
class 6 A had 6 # 9 ranked wrestlers Class 5 A had 2 # 9 ranked wrestlers class 4 A had 2 # 9 ranked wrestlers Class 321 had 2 # 9 ranked wrestlers
Class 6 A had 3 # 10 ranked wrestlers Class 5 A had 3 # 10 ranked wrestlers Class 4 A had 4 # 10 ranked wrestlers Class 321 had 1 # 10 ranked wrestlers
No doubt about it. 4 A carries the depth.

i understand your point cheif.. all though my thoughts differ.. in my oppinion harper is the best at 112 in 6a, also heincker was very sick at the fallbrawl according too his coach and partner roger windham. A big factor is moving up in weight. Wenzel and Norris are big 112 pounders. I do think there is not a lot of difference between them. With the freshman Heincker, he will have plenty of chances to move back into the rankings.

Here is what I say, you guys all have too much time on your hands. May I suggest some good volunteer opportunities? How about a round of golf? I want someone to do a post count break down and tell me h ow long it will be before hief renegade and usawks1 moves into the #3 and #4 spot respectively. Then there is that Aaron Sweazy thing, shouldn't the postings under the other name count towards that stuck on 4999 count or something. Now there would be some worthwhile things to go figure on.

Is that "post envy" seeping in? Even if we pass you Mike, we have never played in a traveling band, grew our hair to the middle of our back or pastored a church!

Cheif, if you ask me Waters of Ark CIty should be ranked ahead of Luke Cole of AB.. Even though Waters only being a Freshman and Cole being a Senior cole lost to cass steele last year for 5th and 6th at state and at kids state waters beet steele. just a thought?

It's a close one KSD. Steele had a rough day at Kid's State. He got pinned on the backside by Humphrey and didn't place. The Senior gets the nod at 103. I obviously am impressed with Colby, being the highest ranked freshman at any weight.

I understand Cheif. Both Cole and Waters are two great wrestlers. If i remember correctly Waters only lost 2 matches last year one being to Seaton at state and the other being to Heincker at the finals in Ark City. But again both great wrestlers. Where will Steele be at this year Cheif?

Unfortunately, Steele will miss this season due to an injury.
