I have received a couple of emails asking me why I deleted the thread. I DID NOT DELETE THE THREAD, which leads me to the conclusion that the originator of the post did. I actually thought the discussion on the thread was quite appropriate.

I deleted it... I didnt want the thread to be negative to the CPA Club... I did have some concerns but I in no way want to be responsible for a negative light cast upon the members of the club.

I thought there were some good questions being asked!

According to Mr. Juby, the wrestlers all have Kansas addresses, so they are from Kansas.

Not sure about the North/South thing.

I'm sorry but that still doesn't answer the question where did these records come from. If they are home schooled are they even able to participate in KSHSAA sponsored events?

Thats kind of a dumb question (no disrespect). Where did your records come from? These guys have worked just as hard as anyone else and they have earned those records. Most of the schools they wrestled were Missouri but thats just because they're a brand new school and none of the other schools would allow them to wrestle. Not all of the guys on the team are home-schooled. Most of them go to Christ Prep. And as Mr. Juby said all the wrestlers live in Kansas and technically Christ Prep is located in KC,KS. If you have any doubts about how good these wrestlers just wait and watch them Saturday. Because CPA is going to kick some butt! :p

What about the kids? 12/U and younger, how did they get their records?

So in other words they were scamming the MHSHAA all year long, not KSKids?

I don't know of a Kansas club that hosted a meet that wouldn't like to have another team show up first year or not.

I've seen the older boys wrestle twice this year. The first time they were definately soft, but later in the season they were very impressive. A few of them appear to be legit - winning easily. I have never heard of the school but I think it is small and new to the sport. I am glad to see new boys in the mix and look forward to seeing how they do this weekend!

Instead of arguing on the subject matter, items at question are discussed at executive meetings.
They are either denied or approved. Wanna know more, get elected, participate, and really
dedicate your efforts and respect elected leaders
positions and their knowledge. Don't quote what
you don't understand!!

I didn't see anyone arguing in this or the previous thread! Rather I saw people asking questions and in effect being told, it wasn't any of their business. I get real curious when that happens. Then I became concerned because the original thread was pulled down and had thoughts that a "cleaner" might have been dispatched from Hutchinson to Wycowrestling. I think I now see what is going on here and why the KsKids officials want it hushed up. Again, some of us simply wanted answers to questions and to make sure we didn't have another KanOkla Krusaders situation.

I started the thread just to get more information about this club. I'm pretty sure most people havnt seen my club all year due to our club being extremely overcharged by our local school district to use their facilities. I think the difference is most of the kids in my club have 15 and fewer match (except high school) and theirs (CPA) had kids with between 20-45 matches. Even for high school it's hard to get 45 matches unless u are goin to some BIG tournaments with 16 man brackets. Generally if you are competing in large tournaments and obviously winning then someone should know something about you and how u wrestling.

I dont want to say their wrestlers are no good. I encourage all kids to wrestle and the purpose of the original thread was not to get them removed from our subs, however, to inquire how good are these kids and where have they been wrestling. I removed the original thread on my own free will. Even though the line of questioning was good I didn’t want anyone thinking down upon the hard work that they obviously do.

I remember 6 years ago when I was 18 and first started our wrestling club. It took us nearly two year to get acclimated to the USAWKS wrestling culture. We didnt know anyone but over the years we have made a lot of friends that we see weekend and week out (I could write a book about my first year coaching kids club). So if this is a new club or whatever I'm deciding not to over analyze the situation and extend a hand.

sportsfan02,

I think you're going to have to be more explicit, since I'm having a hard time understanding this. Let me explain what I am aware of, then you can fill in what is missing:
  • There was a question about where the CPA kids had wrestled.
  • A second question was raised about whether this club should be competing in Kansas.
  • Another person asked whether the won/loss records by this club are valid and/or comparable to other Kansas records.
  • The topic originator deleted the initial post.

It was unfortunate that the original post was deleted, since I felt that many of these questions had been answered. This new topic is now making it appear that those asking questions had been stonewalled.

The CPA club is a Kansas club, albeit one with a Missouri mailing address. All of the wrestlers competing in this club have Kansas addresses; as Kansas residents, they are qualified to compete in the Kansas state tournament series. Where the CPA's affiliated high school or the club itself competes during the regular season is irrelevant - there are many Kansas clubs and high schools who wrestle outside of our state, just as there are non-Kansas teams who come to Kansas events to compete.

Does this complicate the seeding process when the won/loss records were earned against non-common opponents? Perhaps, but I can give multiple examples where you have the same problems with all-Kansas competition. If you could simply rely on won/loss records, there would be no reason to have a seeding meeting. If there were concerns about the strength of a particular club or wrestler’s schedule, this should have been discussed at the seeding meeting.

If there is a legitimate concern about this club or its members, let's get the details so that it can be investigated. If not, then this thread is being extremely unfair to the CPA club and its members, by continuing to cast allegations without any justification.

It's time to drop it and let them wrestle. It has been answered they are a KS club that was my only question. End of story. The rest will be settled on the mat as it will be for all the kids from every club.
