Alright brother this is the last time, I could care less bout the rankings never have never will they mean jack. What place did Colt kids at federation 3rd oh well that proves hes no where near the best Im not closed minded Like I said the rules are different for us in western kansas because our budgets are smaller. Enercyst in hays shuts down loss of workers families, Petersons in Smith center shuts down loss of families. You guys dont have them problems we do. Also with the oilfield so irratic thats another problem. Im not whinning bud just stating that school boards in smaller towns very different and would never allow such a trip. Take my advice and hold your kid out til after christmas he can wrestle all the big darn maches he wants. And yes I said golden platter And you have never once answered my question of how many placers the state of kansas would have in any of these tournaments. How is it relevant to the number of wrestlers we have. And a cage match really tap it or snap man u really dont want any.
For the record, I never said one thing about Colt or Smith Center. Obviously they have great work ethic or they wouldn't have put together the pigskin dynasty that they have. I know Matt and the Rogers boys and they are involved in their community's sports year round which I totally respect. You have never seen a post from anyone from SC or the Roger's family complain but 321A Wrestler decided to make it a topic.
As far as who would have placed... I think Bishop Carroll and Goddard would have placed several kids and finished highly as teams the last few years at any of the big three tournaments I have mentioned. I think Dapper, Chris Watson, Chase Nelson, Kendric Maple, Trent Cox, Atticus Disney, Big Steve Andrus, Duane Zlatnik, Kyle Detmer, Pete Tapia, well just about anyone listed in the top 5 of our all class rankings could be competitive at these tournaments and Kansas would have several Champions as well. Maybe you would have got your feelings hurt or your arm broken or your pride eternally bruised but most kids would LOVE to go to one of these tournaments.
As far as economics. I offered several solutions! The oilfield is erractic... The oilfield has been your very enemy at times! Many hourly workers leave their jobs for higher paying oilfield jobs during the boom so those companies have to close their doors because there is not a cost effective labor pool available. High oil prices put more money into your economies but they also result in WAY higher gas prices which impact EVERYONE not just the few that benefit from the occaisional booms that we have experienced during the last 50 years. Many things have changed over the years and you have to adapt. It is no longer feasible for a family to exist off of a 160 acre farm, it is no longer possible for a mom and pop business to compete with Wal Mart, elimination of rail service, things change. The internet has changed things greatly as well. Work hard and smart! Figure out ways to reduce costs without giving up opportunity. Find common ground and work towards but quit whining! You have big city envy and you are begging for sympathy. You can't eat sympathy so spend your time and energy finding solutions that you can eat. Wind farms, no till farming, cellulosic ethanol (not grain based), school consolidation, government consolidation, etc.
321A, in closing, you agree with me but you just won't admit it. The KSHSAA travel restriction should be abolished so that EVERYONE has the choice to travel to tournaments. Freedom to choose, freedom to earn an opportunity, FREEDOM not oppression.
