Why is Dalton Davis ranked at 112 when all the matches that I can find results for he has wrestled 119. Just asking.

Yes. Don't know if he'll stay there but he certified at 119 and wrestled there Saturday.

145 Total wrestlers ranked.

321A - 79 Schools - 24 ranked
4A - 60 Schools - 46 ranked
5A - 32 Schools - 44 ranked
6A - 32 Schools - 31 Ranked

Nearly one-third of the ranked wrestlers are from 5A.

Without a Grand State Tournament it is tough to know, but it appears that 5A is the strongest this year.

Or it could be a guy from the KC Metro Area who sees more of the 5/6A schools has more ranked? Would it be different if I did it out here in Colby? Yes without a doubt as mostly all I see is 4321A schools...

Nothing against you Eric, the rankings are something to talk about and watch.

Alex,

I receive criteria info from all parts of the state, including plenty from Colby. If there are any rankings that you disagree with, provide the criteria and I will change them. The problem lies with the scheduling separation of the classes. Many of the 321A wrestlers don't have head-to head matches with big schools.

As an example, I have never seen Breck Arnberger wrestle. I do see that he beat Chase Nelson and have followed his results throughout the season and have him currently ranked #1.

Oh I have no problems with the rankings, you're probably just more familiar with the bigger schools and see more results from them. No problems from me on them as these rankings are a huge undertaking on your part for little pay off.

There are 79 321A Schools listed on the KWCA website with wrestling programs. I mean no disrespect to 321A schools. My son wrestles for Mill Valley, a 5A team. One of the toughest tournaments we attend each year is at Norton, facing mostly 321A teams. The wrestlers are outstanding, the stands are full of loyal fans, and the people of Norton really lay down the welcome mat for us.

Kansas produces some great wrestlers. The balance of power varies from year to year, but this year it appears that 5A has a large number of very good wrestlers. I wish we had more tournaments that featured teams from every class. More head to head match-ups would answer a lot of questions and make Chief's job a lot easier.
