Bull,

Exactly the info I need to help the rankings. Thomas started the year tough by beating Lueth (GB), Dakin (EMP) and Dean (VC) at the VC duals. He came into Augusta with a 12-1 record losing only to Tyler Dryden. I see that Alex Wolf beat him 2-0. Not total domination but better.

I'll put Wolf in there...

Ryan Taylor beat Chaston Hoeme at the Goodland Tournament 8-4 and he is ranked #1 in 321A. He has three losses of which two were to Brett Arnberger, losing 3-1 and 3-2.

Chief, you need to put a tagline on your signature that explains why the KWCA rankings are different than yours! You have to be sick of answering that question!!!! I know I am sick of reading that question!!!!!!!!!!!

Chief,

Your tagline could read something like this:

Rankings are not science. They are merely opinions of informed people.
Wrestlers will have bad days, be sick, injured, unmotivated, or all of the above.
If wrestler A beats wrestler B that doesn't necessarily mean that wrestler A is the better wrestler or deserves a higher ranking than wrestler B.
Most rankings will eventually be settled on the mat.
Rankings are a great discussion starter for fans.
Rankings are a great motivator for wrestlers.
Rankings keep Chief very busy.
Ranking may get kids recognized at higher levels.
You are welcome for all of the time and energy I put into the ranking!

He is ranked in 6A. 125 has become a little crowded. Almost as crowded as 119! Brett looked great at Basehor. Does he have any criteria over those guys I have listed?

Thanks Church. It has been a load lately. I have to remember that I do actually have a job! You guys are setting yourself up for a strong run at the end. Good luck down the stretch and we'll see you in Wichita!

From what I have seen D. Wilson has wrestled all of his matches since Christmas break at 119. Looks like he may be moving down.

Hey Chief R you are the man! We all love looking over your Rankings...outstanding job!
Someone to consider for 145 is Andrew Shaft from Douglass he is a Senior. He beat Cole Zolgman from GP last night. The match ended in default. Cole got his bell rung on a shotby CP & throw by from Shaft. Shaft was ahead 6-2 or so a the time and was in control of the match. Would have love to see it continue. Have watched Zolgman at August and Halstead and I don't think anyone had made it thru the 1st period with him, so it could have turned around quickly. Shaft has a lot of talent and should be in the mix for the 321A 145# State Championship if he keeps his head on straight.

I did see that and appreciate the explanation. I saw Shaft in another tournament bracket with a few losses and was trying to figure that one out. I'll keep an eye on him!

This seems to be a common occurrence with Zoglman when he gets down in a match. It happened several times his sophomore year, twice against Nathan Watts from Burlington I believe. Last year it happened against Jake Hattabaugh at the Hesston tournament. Not sure if he’s injury prone or it’s something else. He’s a good wrestler, just doesn't have a lot of heart if you ask me. But, then again I once gave up my racing career because I thought I was paralyzed.
