Just bragging here, so go on if you don't want to "listen' to it;
but. . .
I think the 1995 Norton Regional may have been the first (in "modern times", anyway) to seed on the Friday morning. I was the tournament manager and decided to do it that way so (1) coaches did not have to miss a practice (remember our region covers a big territory) and (2) I wanted the programs being sold to the fans to be 100% accurate. This was in the day before computer programs were widely available and we had a lady type up the brackets as they were seeded and then taken to the office to be run off.
There was some opposition when we announced the plan--won't have enough time, will have to send the coach ahead of the team, etc. etc. We did end up having a protracted discussion and stalemate at 189--who was #1; Dennis of Oakley or Boyle of Norton? But the meeting was still over more than an hour before we started wrestling.
In my opinion, seeding on the Friday for the two day tournaments is the only way it should happen.
