I must not have been fully awake when I read this earlier today. I just about soiled myself a little bit ago I was laughing so hard. Funny, funny stuff.

Ricky,

If you want to go fast hit the nearest McDonalds with one of those spiral slides. Grab a serving tray and you will set a new land speed record. That is if your backside isn't too big for the tray or if you are just too big for the tube!

I learned this trick from the Hood boys.

no sledding for me ricky, ever since they switched that plate in my head, nothing between my brain and the pavement but a piece of government plastic. the scar would show up too much on my bald head. i'll tell you what i'll go get dicky pallucca out of retirement and bring you all some of his famous italian sausage, and i'll whip up some of my country style rib sandwiches. however i have one request, it won't be a trip to topeka unless i get some of that stale popcorn from the hospitality room.

yesterday was my anniversary, and i got a little teary eyed. my wife said " hey what's wrong?"

i said remember before we got married and your dad said "if you don't marry my daughter, i'll have you locked up for 15 years>"?

she said "yeah why?"

i said " i would have been a free man today!!!"

Ya know, if this thread continues, I bet we see car checks at the parking lot entrance for the Expocenter. They will be confiscating food, coolers and grills. There'll be a sign that says "No food or drinks allowed in parking lot"

Greg,

My dad and I went fishing a lot when I was a kid. When things got a little slow, we started to go after the bull frogs. They were easy pickins when you dropped the rubber worm or popper in front of them. Frog legs ... taste like chicken.

We moved from Belleville (Buffaloes) to Pratt (Greenbacks) in 1980 and I was hoping the mascot was a dollar bill. Instead, it was a Fighting Frog. I am glad that I had the chance to be a part of the frog tradition. With respect to my upbringing though, I think we should have some Buffalo wings as well.

Nothin funner than throwing a plastic worm 10' past a big Bull Frog sticking his head out of the moss and draggin it by him. Heck...throwing one 5' in front of them is fun too. They will pounce on it like a big ole Bass hitting a jitterbug.

When my dad was young (mid 20's), they would take a 2x4 and a window screen and make a giant fly swatter. What a muddy mess....

Those were the good old days Greg. I have never been hand fishing for catfish, but I have heard many stories of people who did. Something about sticking my arm down the throat of a 40-50 pound fish with sandpaper lips just didn't appeal to me. It has been a number of years since I've had catfish on the grill, but I remember it being pretty tasty. Might have to bring some to the tailgate at State.

On a different note, my newest avatar is my youngest son Bryce. The U2/25 pounder is sure lot of fun. He was 3 1/2 months old when I deployed in '07 and I was fortunate enough to watch him grow up via the web cam. Isn't technology great?

Ok. I'm bringing hot dogs, I think Humphrey is bringing patties, Jeff Smith water. We still need buns, chips, soda, condiments, local (topeka) people for grills and a head count. If you bring something you eat. Beeson jump in here and help out cause i know you can eat a ton.

Hey Jerry maybe you can get Reid, Pelosi, and Obama to give you some federal bailout money, if you are need help making it work!!??

Last year, Brawlers just did cold sandwiches, the year before we grilled. It was tough to find a good time to grill, cause kids are wrestling at all different times. Ended up one or two guys out there to do most of the grilling.

i think i will try and turn this into profit. i will offer lower prices than the expo center and should make a killing.
menu
hamburger- $7
cheesburger- $9 (cheese is expensive you know)
chips (4)- $5
water (12oz)- $5
gatorade (8oz)- $10
come on out to the Parking Lot Cafe and eat up
here's some slogans i'm thinking about:
We only look expensive, compare and save!!
Save Money Eat Better
Feed Any Family for $99.95!
Hey Security Check THIS Bag!!!
OK maybe the last one is a little much

I may pass on the parking lot dining. My son and I are planning on taping sandwiches, chips, and gatordade packets to our bodies. We tried it in Salina with great success. Our only fear is the dreaded body pat down at the door. But like I told my son in Salina, when the pat down starts, I'll distract them, run in different directions and I'll meet you at the truck! My hope is that the Expocentre security are not prepared for a long drawn out foot pursuit. We always end up parking on the far edge of the parking lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck at Subs everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Regarding the pat down: remember to tell the kids that crushed potato chips and smashed bread tastes the same as if it wasn't smashed.

Paratroop,

Forget the pat down, beware of the food sniffing dogs. When I was going back overseas after a 15 day leave last year, I had packed four boxes of boy scout cookies in my assault pack. As I was trying to get on the plane in Dulles Airport, a drug sniffing dog spent a few anxious moments smelling by bag. I am not sure of the breed of this dog, but I am pretty sure that it must have been a Chocolate Lab.

Lol. Great advice. I was planning on taping a package of hotdogs to my left calf this tourney, just for a little variety, but have decided against it. I am pretty sure I saw Expocentre security patrolling wtih a pretty intimidating daschund last year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
