One of my wrestlers did not get points do to being out of bounds on a small mat ended up losing the match back qualified out the back side). My response to this is "wrestlers must know where they are on the mat and score in bounds." I don't care if it's a 1/4 mat or a full mat. What is the big deal. There have been 1/4 mat all season long so why change anything for the qualifying tournaments. Not all the clubs can use huge venues so all kids in all weights can have full mats. They won't have full mats at states for all kids either.
