... and I can't receive the feed!! Also where I am sitting, I cannot see the mats!!
My coverage will be MUCH behind the live feed but for those of you who can't get the feed, I will do my best!
Right now, we are just killing time till 7 pm EDT ... they've had the parade, the anthem, and now the crowd is doing the wave!!
By the time they do start ... the fans ought to be in a lather!
It was really neat for the Anthem though. The U.S. Navy Seals have their promo stage set up and while a young lady from the Navy was singing, you could see an action video on the big screen!

I cant see anything yet just the Up Next - 7:00 PM EST - Wrestling: Senior National High School Wrestling Championships on the screen. I think as long as you sign up on espn anyone can watch it. You have to download the player but thats about it.

Wow ... C.J. Napier is a National Champion! One more time in case you didn't hear me, C.J. Napier is a National Champion!!!
In the first, Paddock had the front head lock secured and was trying to run the corner. Napier did a great job staying square. Napier later countered Paddock to earn a takedown. Paddock gained his feet and worked for the escape. C.J. leads, 2-1.
In the second, Paddock opted down and again worked for the escape. The period ends, 2-2.
In the third, with about 1-minute C.J. earned the escape to go ahead 3-2. Both wrestlers were countering and shooting but C.J. was a bit too defensive for the satisfaction of the referee ... C.J. picked up a stall warning. Then, there was a re-start with 4 seconds to go and the ref awarded Paddock 1-point for Napier's stall as time expired.
Overtime! C.J. was in on his patented single leg and switched it off to a double leg ... he lifted ... he flared ... C.J. put Paddock on his butt then his back! C.J. earned the takedown and at least 2 for near fall!!!
C.J. Napier from Columbus, Kansas is your National Champ!!

Post match reflections!
C.J. Napier is sitting with his Mom and Grandparents and grinning ear-to-ear! Todd Napier was on the floor and accepting handshakes and even a hug or two!
Whether or not you agree with the stall call that tied the match ... C.J. got to decided it! Todd and I were discussing the match and how much C.J. enjoys wrestling! Next week he leaves for Vegas and the FILA Junior Nationals!!
I was giving credit to C.J. and his family for C.J.'s gpa with the travel schedule he has! Todd gives that credit to his wife!!
C.J. came down and joined the conversation. After a few hugs and such I was mentioning his double leg flare finish ... the year C.J. won the Cadet Nationals in Fargo ... he flared everyone!
Restarting with 4-seconds left C.J. did not think there was any way possible he would give up the stall ... but he did. In my estimation, the always calm and reserved Napier got a little bit pissed ... and moments later, let everyone know, without a doubt, who the victor was!!

Congratulations, C.J. Napier, the Cornhusker nation is very proud of you too!
It sounds like it was a job well done by all the Kansas seniors. Great finish to a great Kansas high school folkstyle year. Good luck to all our Kansas senior wrestlers as they move on to college next year. Those of you who wrestled in this tournament did Kansas proud.

I am going to say ttfn! Team Kansas has an awards ceremony back in the hotel at 10 pm! Of course the honored guest will be C.J.!
I also would be remiss if I didn't say what a great job Chuck and Cherie Elvin, along with Gary Ulmer do in the planning and managing of this trip! No other State has the camaraderie and organization Team Kansas has ... and that credit goes to the Elvin's!
Wish us all safe travels as it suppose to be snowing in Detroit, where are connections are for tomorrows trip home!
See you all in Kansas!
