It is winding down on the beach. I have sand in my shoes, have climbed the U.S.'s first light-house, watched a few hundred matches, and reported on 5 Kansas All-Americans!
But there is a bit of unfinished business! Will C.J. Napier be the next Kansas National Champion?
C.J.'s mother will be in the stands, as will his always present Grandparents, and a couple dozen team mates and other members of the Kansas contingent. In the corner, will be his proud father, Todd who will be assisted by the re-uniting of Columbus and Chanute. Yes, Andy Albright will be matside wearing Columbus red!
I can think of no more deserving person than C.J. and the Napier family! For a dozen or more years, I've gotten to watch C.J. compete from places like Wellsville, Kansas; Akron, Ohio; Las Vegas, Nevada; Fargo, North Dakota; and Virginia Beach, Virginia. And, his family has always been there! While I may not get to see C.J. compete over the next few years, I am certain that his family will.
He has a formidable task! His opponent will be Ian Paddock of Warsaw, New York; a small-town like Columbus, that has roughly 3,500 people. Paddock has over 260 wins in his 6-year varsity career and has signed with Ohio State University.
Now it is up to C.J. and he is ready to take the next step!
Are you making a POSITIVE difference in the life of kids?
