Chad, someone will just fill the voids after the kids state tournament if it's moved up. The first weekend after the new date you will have the proverbial "Hardluck State Tournament". Then the following weeks you would have the clubs who got shut out of hosting a tournament due to the condensed season and fighting for open dates. And after all of the new season and The State Tournament, people would still attend these after season tournaments if offered.
I say continue to do as you and others have done and that is allow each and every person, family and club to make their own decisions about when to take off and even when to end their season. I will as I have always done continue to take the weekend of high school state off regardless of what tournaments are available. I would as I have posted before support a moratorium on tournaments statewide the weekend of high school state, but realistically if we did that, we would still have a bunch of people traveling out of state to some tournament if one was available.
