Congratulations to Roger Windham of Derby for finishing 3rd at the very prestigous Senior Nationals. Not bad for not even being ranked #1 in your own state. I believe that this proves my point that Windham should be #1 even on the all-mighty, all-seeing, all-knowing Chief Renegade's Mythical Top Ten list unless you believe someone else in his weight could have placed 3rd. Again, no hating or disrespect intended. Windham deserves his dues.

Congrats to Roger! He had a fantastic career and I wish him much success in college! We did have a National Champion that was also ranked #2 in his state in CJ Napier. Both of those weights could have went either way, so a decision was made based purely on observation. I'd be glad to go through my thoughts in detail through a PM if you would like.
Roger does definitely deserve his dues!

Windaham is certainly good, but how many seniors are actually at 103lbs. Getting 3rd at senior nationals is a great accomplishment, however there are many underclassmen at such a small weight that could easily compete in that division. It has nothing to do with in state ranking for all age groups.
Are you saying that Pursel, Seybold, and Watters would not have been able to place at that tournament?
Senior nationals at 103lbs. is not near as deep as nationals for underclassmen at that weight!

Put Windham #1 and let's be done with it. Bo doesn't really care.

If Chief lets certain parents decide who is ranked instead of his own personal opinion the rankings would lose any sort of credibility. He puts a lot of time and energy into his work. They are his informed opinions. I don't know why people get upset over this.
Windham will not be on the rankings for much longer anyways. Let XGHSWC keep crying. These are last years rankings. There are three stud freshman waiting in the wings!!!!!

What is your problem with Windham? I dont see where he is crying and I doubt he gives a crap about these rankings. He won a state title and earned AA status and is now choosing what college to attend. The person on here supporting him is XGHSWC. Which if Im not mistaken is X goddard wrestling coach

It was not directed towards Windham at all, it was directed towards XGHSWC. I am sure Windham could care less. I wish XGHSWC would stop dragging his name through this.

Way to take away from Windhams accomplishment BigPinhead22. I knew that at least someone couldn't resist hating. No, Pursel, Seybold and Watters are still just as fabulous, and don't forget Schumacher.
I know Bo doesn't care. I talked to him again at Brute and he is still that same wonderful humble kid that I have talked to every other time in the past. I am sure that he is just as fantastic of a wrestler as he was before as well. I am sure also that he is taking the discussion much better than the "adults" appear to be taking it. Windham does not care either I am sure.
No hating to Chief Renegade as I know that he puts in lots of time and energy. That is obvious. But quite frankly, I am sure that I know more about the 103 pounders than he does as my son has wrestled all of them, many this year. I know that he is more informed about the other weights and that is why I have not responded about them. And no one is getting upset, Windham deserves his dues. Windham is a great kid like Bo. Windham has not said a thing either BigPinhead22 so why would you say "Let him keep crying."? Great immature response.
Chief Renegade, thanks for the appropriate mature response. I am done with this, there is nothing left to say.

Nice move Bigpinhead22. That is some slick back tracking. Way to edit your original post while I was writing my response to make it look like you said "Let XGHSWC keep crying" when we all know that you said "Let him keep crying" as verified in Molloy's response containing your quote. I will say though that for the sake of argument you were not directing it at Windham as you say. But clearly there no defense for this comment below. Windaham is certainly good, but how many seniors are actually at 103lbs. Getting 3rd at senior nationals is a great accomplishment, however there are many underclassmen at such a small weight that could easily compete in that division. Did Pursell wrestle the Brute? Did not see his name on the list of wrestlers on the Brute web page.

"Let him keep crying" was a reference to you. You are "him" dipshat!
As for my other comment, I don't need to defend it. It's a fact. Sorry that the truth upsets you.
In our state alone we have 8 freshmen ranked in the top ten all class ranking at 103lbs. and only 2 seniors.
62.5% of the 103lbs. state placers were freshmen. 79.2% of the 103lbs. state placers were freshmen and sophmores. This weight class is clearly dominated by underclassmen!
That does not mean they are not studs, they are simply young studs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason it is mostly underclassmen is because most seniors grow. Most not all. I guess by your reasoning those seniors that are small are not studs.

Bo did not wrestle at Brute. His sister was playing volleyball next door so he went over to watch for a little bit. Great job to all who competed.

Ok, Wow!
My involvement in this thread was not about you BigPin22 and your stats. When I said there was no excuse for your comment, I did not mean the clerical aspect of it, I meant the derogatory nature of it. Do you not get that?
Here is what it was about, giving Roger Windham his dues. My opinion is that he should be #1. He has done everything that he could have and should have to, in my opinion, to deserve that bestowment (I do realize that the same could be said for Bo, Bo is clearly special). But I can have an opinion just like Chief. Others have had opinions on this thread contradictory to Chief, so can I. The responses on the threads add some "life" to it. It is fun, interesting and entertaining. I do not expect everyone to agree with me and I certainly didn't make the comment because I expected Chief to agree. I just felt that alot of people do not realize how good Windham really was this year, especially down the stretch. So I was compelled to tell them. Windham just got better and better. At the end of the year, there was no "criteria" that I could see that would show that Windham should not be #1 (again I realize the same could be said for Bo). I guess I should not have brought up the Senior Nationals. But it was another way for me to say, "Hey, look how good Windham is!". I know he is a Senior and 103 is loaded more with stud freshmen. Like I said, my son has been wrestling them for years. That did not need to come up.
Your comments were unneccesary. You really did not even need to comment. There was no need to defend Bo or any other of the fabulous freshman. Believe me, I know how good Pursel, Seybold, Watters, etc. are. It was supposed to be about recognizing Windham. Your comments were derogatory and they took away from his accomplishment. You were more concerned about slamming me than how your comments offended others. It is ok though, you are not alone, others did that as well with previous comments. I myself even made a couple of comments that perhaps would have been offensive if I had been on the other side of them. But again, they were truly designed to promote Windham and not offend others. I thought that I had clarified that previously but just in case I did not make that point, I am again now. I should have let it go, but people were responding with derogatory comments which I felt needed to be addressed. I hope that everyone feels better and will stop the negativity.
I just should have created my own top ten and posted it and everyone could slam me which I would not have enjoyed. There would probably still be people that would be derogatory and offensive to others in their attempt to get me or prove their point and that would be sad. But one thing is for sure, in the end, at the top of the list, would still be, Roger Windham #1.

In honor of the 2008-09 #1 ranked All-Class wrestlers, I have decided to reward them with a T-shirt signifying their accomplishment and look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come. I had thought about starting this next year but am now having shirts made for each of these 14 wrestlers. I hope to have them finished by the Park Hill Duals on May 16th and will mail or deliver them to each wrestler that finished #1 in my final rankings on March 28th.
103 - Bo Pursel 112 - Taylor Moeder 119 - Nathan Furches 125 - Chase Nitcher 130 - Ryne Cokeley 135 - Kendric Maple 140 - Parker Madl 145 - Mitchell Means 152 - Chris Watson 160 - Tyler Caldwell 171 - Breck Arnberger 189 - Boaz Beard 215 - Tanner Kriss 285 - Lucas Vincent
