Just show up and wrestle or better yet, sign up your own group. This is the 3rd or 4th year we have gone to this tournament. My son commented yesterday that he doesn't understand why "everyone" doesn't wrestle this tournament. It is a lot of fun and basically no pressure. This year he and 3 of his friends wrestled in the 19-29 age group. Our group had eveyone from a college wrestler, 2 guys who haven't competed since their 2008 high school season and a friend who had never wrestled in his life. He wanted to be a part of the fun and went to a few open mat sessions to get the basics. This is not a tournament that is going to give you a lot of recognition or prove much of anything. As I see it, the guys who wrestle in the Sunflower State Games do it for the love of the sport. I think that makes it a great tournament.
