What is the chances of Kansas putting together a super series of wrestling tournaments? Salina, Sprawl, and Wichita Classic. If all those organizations could get together and put on a Series here in Kansas where you earn points for each one and award series champions. I think it would be great for the sport here in Kansas. We personally are supporting all three in hopes of a series being possible in the future. Are most Kansas clubs suppoting these tournys? Local tournaments are great for clubs and fundraisers, but kids don't get to see what competition is out there till state time. If we had a super series they would have a better idea who's out there before State rolled around.

It is a good idea and should be considered. Although, I think the reason that it works so well in OK is because they majority of the clubs in OK are in and around the Tulsa/OKC area so they are within an hour and half drive from most of those tournaments. That might be an issue here in KS where the western half of the state has quite a few clubs. Not too many people are willing to drive where there is a possiblity that they may have an overnight stay, when there may be one a lot closer to go to.
The series tournaments in OK that are off in the boonies are often not that well attended but those in the Tulsa/OKC are well attended 700+.
Fortune assists the daring.

BRING IT ON: Aren't you one of the people putting on or helping with the Sprawl Tournament? Do you think you guys will ever be big enough to consider yourself a canidate for a Super Series Event? How many entries do think you guys will have? Will it be enough to support you guys trying it again next year? Don't you think Derby would be a much better choice of a series event?

Well I hope they get the support to bring it back next year. Wichita needs a BIG "National" Tournament. Yes, we have the Classic but until it loses its "Horse Barn" Reputation it will not be as big as it could be.
As for the "Series" idea... I know for a fact that its already being kicked around! I agree, that would be awesome!!!

Highcrotch: To answer a few questions. Yes, I think we will be big enough to be considered as part of a super series, but we can't do it with out the support of most clubs here in kansas. We will be having this tournament again next year. We will plan to have it early in Dec. instead of late Nov. When USJOC started their first year they had less than 600 entries, this year they had 2,300. You must crawl before you walk. Question for you highcrotch are you and your club supporting it????

Park City Classic will be at Hartman Arena this year according to the information from Wichita Sports Commission.
