WOW!!! They placed all the way to 8th. Technically a wrestler could get beat out of this double elimination tournament TWICE!!!! I hope the "P" club gave out ribbons to everyone that entered the tournament, that would only be fair. When are tournaments, including STATE, going to stop coddling kids. Place the top 4, all other places do not matter.
Better yet, lets just make all tournaments single elimination and only recognize the champion. I think you are getting a little carried away with the "P" club thing.
Why are the same tournaments: Derby, Newton, STATE, to name a few, that only placed the top 4 back in the 90's, now placing the top 6 and the top 8? The tournaments have not gotten that much bigger. It is because society as a whole has joined the "P" club. Its embarrassing to make a kid have to lose 4 matches in a tournament if you ask me. Two and out.
